Guest guest
Hi , Surgery can be a scary thing because of the unknown, tell me why you are scared? I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. If it will help, I have a friend who had a masectomy and the tissue expanders inserted at the same time. She said that it was relatively painless (the only discomfort she felt was when the doctor pumped air (don't know if I remembered that part correctly)every few weeks before the implant was inserted, but she was pleased with the overall effect. She doesn't know what type of cancer she had, but she did the masectomy because BC runs in her family, and she did not have Chemo or Radiation, but she took a pill a day for 5 years. She just celebrated 7 years without Cancer. Keep you with me, Anita --- runningbackmom1 runningbackmom1@...> wrote: > Hello I will be undergoing surgery on Mar.7 > bi-lateral tissue expanders > the same day. Guest guest
...it's just human to be scared. I had my expanders installed during my mastectomy procedure on December 7th. So far so good. In the beginning they were uncomfortable but since the tissue has expanded I have much less discomfort now. I am doing chemo through the end of April, so won't have the transfer procedure for the final implants done until I'm through with that. There haven't been any complications with the expanders themselves, and the saline " fills " to pump them up every week went fine. It's just a little tightness is all. About being scared about the surgery, just have faith in your surgery team, in your higher power and in yourself and it will all be fine. > > Hello I will be undergoing surgery on Mar.7 bi-lateral tissue expanders > the same day.
