, I recently got a treadmill and have been using exercise as a way to burn off that anxiety as well — that and then yoga and deep breathing along with massages to help with deep relaxation and it seems to be working but I still have those “episodes” a couple times a month and I feel like I will never get “better.” :(

They did get worse since I got the hypo and Hashis and changed in nature. Used to be worry, blushing, etc and now it’s “I MUST GET OUT OF HERE NOW” but no heart racing or chest hurting – it’s just a need to become “invisible” and then it goes away and I wonder if I am nuts sometimes!

I have overactive adrenals and it could be a rush or onsurge of the coritsol — mine tested normal for 7 am and then stayed mid to high range all the way thru midnight, never declining. I have no idea what the heck to do for that....

I had those all my life, but they got so much worse with Hashimoto's, unbeknownest to me at the time. The weird flushing, turning away, feeling like I was " on display " , when just minutes before, I didn't care what anyone thought about me, haha. The feeling of needing to get up and run, and, actually, that's what I did, was run miles a day, for yrs. Jogging 5 miles or so seemed to quell some of it, so I see it now as cortisol that was going wild, trying to make up for that thyroid hormone I just didn't have, or, at times, trying to keep up with the amts that were probably pouring out of my thyroid (hypo to hyper and back again), that is, when the thyroid still had some of it's own gusto left. Plus all the other hormonal changes that were taking place in my body. I don't have them any more, probably LOW adrenal (guessing), but I can react when needed. That's good for my job, lol, since I'm on a nursing floor. Now, it's more like battling mental depression from being immersed in that all the time, so it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. I think that, because of all this, I can handle life's storms a little better, and say " so what " much more often, as in " I lived through that, and I can live through this " . I had those " attacks " for better than 10 yrs before I was diagnosed with the thyroid disease, then discovered on my own much later what all those little antibodies can do in the brain also.

(hyperthyroid).

Just some ideas here: This link looks like a discussion, and I can't tell whether this is a professional or not, but anyway, don't know if they are selling something something, just read the article or conversation.

' I just got done reading the article. I take remeron every evening to aid with depression and sleep. I did canary club testing and cortisol testing for myself came back HIGH, not low. So I have to disagree with there statements. I have been taking remeron for over a year as well. So it's not something that I just started. It does help dramitaclly with my ability to get to sleep and stay asleep through the night, although at times I do awake several times when I have higher stress during the daytime hours. Thanks for sharing that. But doesn't it say that Remeron helps to cut cortisol (not increase it), so it may do it's work by that means? Could have sworn that's what it said. That would mean that that's why it's working for YOU.

What time(s) of day did your cortisol reading(s) come back high?

' Mine came back depressed in the morning, normal for noon, and elevated at 4-5pm and elevated at midnight. Do you think that the remeron has something to do with that morning cortisol being so low? I would think not.. but maybe. If the remeron is depressing cortisol.. but unless it's effects are still working, the drug is still working when you get up (your's is the readings where the first one wasn't bad, the second was way low, the last two high? --- sorry, to lazy to go back and look to be sure) where the call the adrenals is being met, but the remeron is canceling it out..

... just doesn't make sense to me...

What do the rest of you think??
