You really do have a lot going on. But the first thing a scheduler in my

doctor's office told me was

to breath and continue doing that until I calmed down. It really does work.

But aside from that, take one step at a time. Since I have a background as a

pastor, my best suggestion is to literally close your eyes and envision that God

has His hands and/or arms out for you to climb into. Then just put yourself

literally in your mind in His hands.

The day I had my mastectomy (Dec 11, 2006) I did okay through the sentinental

node injections. I also did okay until the staff came to take me to pre-op and

surgery. Suddenly tears came from no where. It was almost uncontrollable. I

had tried for so long to be strong for everyone else. Suddenly I couldn't do it

anymore. In pre-op the nurse was great and allowed me to just talk while they

were getting me ready. As I was being given something to make me drowsy I put

myself in God's arms. And He did take care of me then and since then.

My prayers are with you. You will be just fine and get through this. I will

put you on my calendar for March 7.

Fear of the unknown is the worst. I had a mastectomy and never needed any pain

meds while in the hospital or when I came home. I had 6 mo of CMF chemo and

never got sick. Hang in there! I will keep you in my prayers.
