Guest guest
I've had nerve pain for 10 years from having my spinal cord badly compressed in my neck. Had neck surgery, but still have the pain. What oncologists may not know, but neurologists do, is that antiseizure drugs like Trileptal and Tegretol are good for nerve pain. The drugs slow down the transmission of the nerve signals and it helps relieve the pain. I've been on them for years. Another one is Neurontin, and another is Lyrica (very similar to Neurontin), but the Neurontin, at least, had some side effects I didn't like (sleepiness, felt like I lost IQ points). You might talk to your oncologist about this, and talk to him about a referral to a neurologist if he doesn't know about them. Ellie --------------------------------- Never miss an email again!
