Hi Sue,

Well as far as the gluten thing goes...I get millet bread at the health food store that is yeast and sugar free and is only made with millet flour. If I want muffins I make my own with different gluten free flours. There are a lot of them you can get and they are good. You just have to experiment with them. You can get Pamala's gluten free baking mix at the health food store and make muffins with it and also bread. I don't eat much bread only like once a week with an egg or and egg sandwich.

The sugar free I only use stevia to sweeten things. I use it to bake and for everything. It seems hard in the beginning but it is really easy now because there is such a big variety of things at the health food store that you can get.

Yes you can find cracker also.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Bernetta

Hi Bernadetta,

Forgive me chiming in here, but you do know, don't you, that millet is a

goitrogen, and is the only goitrogen that is MORE POTENT after cooking ? I

often wondered who ate millet apart from canaries - now I know ;)

Hi Bernetta,

Do you like the stevia? I have been thinking about using that but am leery of sugar substitutes.

I have hear good stuff about stevia but the government won’t approve it and I am not sure why...they allow it as an additive or supplement but not for sugar substitute in foods. Did you get any side effects from it?

Hi

Yes I know it is a goitrogen but I don't think one slice of millet bread a week is going to screw up my meds. Or if I'm wrong please correct me. Thanks, Bernetta

Ok thanks — I rarely “sugarfy” anything but thought if you do, the real thing as in sugar, was best but then I also know sugar is not good for us!
