Guest guest
Hi Everyone I have seen posts before that mentioned the " current ranges " for TSH are....??? Can someone post the new ranges? I want to present these to my doc when I go in for my Uptake results tomorrow. Where are theses ranges documented or where can I find them online? Why are the ranges different then what the doc looks at? Am i off base on this? Something to try FYI I started juicing and have included ginger to my diet. In the morning I like to juice carrots, apples, and ginger to jump start the day. Their are also other juices for sleep aid which I am eager to try. I notice the better I sleep the better I feel the next day. As I am sure this is how most of us feel. Wish me luck tomorrow as I hear what my doc has to say about my uptake results...My US indicated an enlarged thyroid and shotty lymph node. I am more concerned about the Uptake results.. What are the ranges for Iodine uptake? I think of all of you often and hope that your questions are answered and that you are feeling well. This whole Thyroid thing has been a bit of a shock to me and I am overwhelmed over the number of us who do suffer and are frustrated about our health. Guest guest
Here's one: http://thyroid.about.com/cs/testsforthyroid/a/labs2003.htm She gives two links, one to the AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists) and one to the AACC (American Association for Clinical Chemistry), I give you 's site to give you those links cuz she points out in her article which parts to high light after you print the other two articles (from AACE and AACC) to show to your doc. For those that aren't familiar with this topic... the results of the new ranges were set in November of 2002 and published in January of 2003 and they are, to be exact, .3 to 3.04 though we tend to just say .3 to 3.0 cuz that is what is the easy to remember number.... Many docs and labs are still using the old ranges that went as high as 5.0, some use 5.5 and some docs and labs won't treat for hypo unless your labs show 10.0 or higher (which to me should be a hanging offense, but then that is just me) Topper () On Wed, 09 May 2007 21:03:25 -0000 "Alison Ahmuty" writes:> Hi Everyone> > I have seen posts before that mentioned the "current ranges" for TSH > are....???
