Guest guest
Hey everyone, For those of you who have kids on a continuous or drip feed with a Mic-Key button, do you ever get deposits or brown spots inside the connecting tube? This has just started for us in the past week and we don't know what is causing it. We've even tried a brand new tube and we still have the problem. Has anyone else dealt with this? ~ Mom of Jack (6mo. CHARGEr) ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Sucker-punch spam with award-winning protection. Guest guest
Hey , Do you flush before and after feeds. I found that happening and since i have started doing that I dont get that build up. Also, I get a cotton tip and dip it in water with some bicarbonate soda in it and clean it that way. Also, Hayley, when sick, (oooo that seems to be all the time) gets a build up around the PEG on her skin. This I soften with moisturer and then get a damp bath cloth and wipe around until all gone. If she is very unwell I tend to pack around the PEG to limit the build up. Also, I use a steriod type cream (cant think of name at the moment) daily to reduce the redness that can occur from time to time. (standing on my proud box) I also like to mention that this is Hayley's second PEG in, (so have done well) :-) The first one was faulty. The clinic nurse keep saying that Hayley has the best PEG site she has ever seen, most of the kids that she sees the parents dont clean around the site of PEG and they have major infections. I looked at it like this from the beginning as been a foreign object in her body and I needed to treat it like a royal if I didnt want her body to reject it. :-) Ok, I am defiantately going now it is well after midnight I am so so tired, have only had about hmm 10 to 12 hours sleep since Monday. I am so over tired I feel as I have forgotten how to sleep ( I am sure many of you or all of you wonderful mums and dads and carers know what I am talking about) Hope this helps ,.
