Guest guest
It's been a roller coaster of a week. Our divorce is finally official. That's the good news. But the bad news is that the judge's order was ludicrous and granted absolutely no alimony despite me not being able to work because of Max's needs (which was agreed on in court by both parties and the judge). We are appealing...but it will be another tough, expensive fight. BUT ANYWAY....the absolutely wonderful news it that Maxwell is finally getting the whole concept of sign language! I am soooooooooooooooooooooo excited! He now can sign " dog, eat (even though he doesn't really eat...just tastes), ball, car, thank you " . It is not always consistent but he has made such HUGE gains in the area of communication recently. I am absolutely stunned and amazed with my special guy!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Way to go Max! As for the judge, I'm too polite to air my opinion on that in this particular forum. Guest guest
Thank Goodness you have Max to give you reason for joy. --- I was thinking, would you like us to start a letter campaign to the Governor's office, or flood the editor of one of the newspapers? Or both? That could be fun. Give us a chance to be pro-active regarding CHARGE. I think we'd all feel better if we could do something, as it's pretty personal for us too. in Ma. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Hi Amy, That can't possibly be legal, I really can't understand how he cannot be required to help you financially, that is really disgusting and just shocking and disgraceful on the judges part. I really hope your appeal goes well, can't you get some kind of news story to put it out to the public, someone might want to help you legally. As far as the blogs go, I would also be furious reading that information about my child on someone else's blog. Maybe you should ask your lawyer if this is legal and sue them for defamation of character... He is not disfigured and he is not retarded, he does have a genetic condition that makes him different (which has actually been linked to a mutation in the SPERM, *which was brought up at the last charge conference in Australia) Sorry Amy, I am ranting on, but my blood is boiling just thinking about you and all the crap you have to take and then reading terrible stuff about your child - well, that is just wrong. Well done with Max's signing, he's a clever little thing. Try not to think about what other people say, they don't know him and how truly perfect he is. Your life will improve dramatically when your mutated sperm supplier disappears from your life, he honestly doesn't deserve you or your son. Good luck Australia > > It's been a roller coaster of a week. > > Our divorce is finally official. That's the good news. Guest guest
Great ideas, . Amy, let us know what we can do to impact the decision that was made. It doesn't make any sense. It has a serious effect on Max's quality of life. CONGRATULATIONS on the great sign progress. That is fabulous. :-) Re: mighty max's huge progress with sign language Thank Goodness you have Max to give you reason for joy. --- I was thinking, would you like us to start a letter campaign to the Governor's office, or flood the editor of one of the newspapers? Guest guest
Well done Max, well done Amy. As Michele W said, congrats on celebrating the positives at a tough time. Sadly, the world is full of its share of idiots. Some people you just know you are wasting energy on by trying to educate (eg the idiot who responded to your post by insulting your son even more by his ignorance). Don't suppose it would ever make sense to him that we are all celebrating a huge achievement with you since he is a prize bigot with only his perception of beauty and intelligence to see him through his narrow minded world. I once had a list exchange with a similar reality challenged idiot who I decided was a waste of energy and space and cut out cold. Hard I know when your private life has become everyone else's business through no fault of yours. As for the judge, how the hell does everyone agree that you can't work as you need to care for Max but not that his father should bear some responsibility for him? What sort of justice is that? Would that have happened if he was not a public figure? Amy, I hope the appeal brings some happier news for you, but in the meantime, enjoy your beautiful little boy and the communication you both have achieved.
