just checking-wig coverage

Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if you all submitted your wig receipt with the breast cancer

code. A while back we had this conversation (in a couple of BC forums) and it

was discovered that the ladies were submitting their bills with either no

code or the wrong code so they were getting rejected.

(Since there is evidently no medical/insurance code for a " wig " .)

So, once they figured that out they resubmitted them coded properly and many

of them got reimbursed. (Some ins companies just flat out didn't cover it.)

The way you find out the code is call the insurance lady at your Onc's

office. Ask for the code that means " Breast Cancer "

It just hit me this morning...off-the-wall a few days after reading the wig

conversations. (Now, a girl WITHOUT chemo-brain mighta answered immediately)
