Guest guest
Kats, Off doing some more reading, Thanks for the link. It's not really OT if it is affecting our Thyroid or thyroid levels in my case since I don't have a thyroid anymore. But it really makes me wonder if it was a contributing factor of why they never could stabalize my thyroid levels. This is what happened to me after the death of my first husband, the gushing periods I had, and the doc tried to STOP them with the birth control pills doubled up. It should have, but it didn't. Instead, it made them worse, and here's why: Ordinarily, a healthy thyroid would gear up and down according to the estrogens they were giving, but if there is a low thyroid problem there, a quirk in the gland itself, the opposite is going to happen, and it did. Estrogen is a big thyroid hormone blocker, and that's why it made it worse in someone who already was an accident waiting to happen. This should have been my very first clue of things to come, but it wasn't, because I didn't know anything about the thyroid all those yrs ago. You have reported these heavy periods even while taking the pill haven't you? The doctor needs to know this, and then if he doesn't suspect this, he simply doesn't know anything about the thyroid, let alone how these other hormones are affected by it. Guest guest
Yeh, it's just horrible when you have these not so subtle reactions to so called secondary things that can just touch your lips and send you into some kind of physical tirade, not knowing what the heck is going on or what it was. People who are allergic to seafood are in a very precarious position because they never really know (when eating in a restaurant) if their food was cooked on a grill or in a pan that just simply " touched " the other stuff. It is so frustrating, and though I haven't been tested or had the elimination diets lately (yrs), I suspect it may be one of my main problems, food allergy. It is saddening when you can't just go eat like everybody else, duh. Re: Follow-Up Re: What do you think?
