Guest guest
I really need help to try to understand what is going on with myself lately. this morning for example I got up at 8am took my 1/2 grain armour on an empty stomach as usual..then headed off to a couple ealry garage sales. About an hour later I started getting really sweaty, shakiness, and almost felt disorientated. This has happened alot the past week. So this time when I got into the house I took my glucose reading with my sons meter, cause he said everything I have been discribing sounds just like when his blood sugar gets low...and it read 84..so I ate some french toast and checked a half hour later and it was 129, but I still felt icky. Then after all of that I got a terrible headache thats just kind of been lingering. I just got all of my canary club results back and will list them all below. Does anyone else feel like this and if so, what helps it? As I am so worried about getting some place and passing out from this feeling. It just makes you feel so aweful. Cortisol..saliva 7-8am 2 depressed... .Normals 13-24 11-noon 9 normal.....Normals 5-10 4-5pm 15 elevated.... normals 3-8 11-midnight 11 elevated.... normals 1-4 cortisol burden 37 normals 23-42 DHEA 7 normals 3-10 TSH 72 normal (26-85) FT4 0.37 normal (0.17-0.42) FT3 0.62 normal (0.28-1.10) TPO postive Estradiol 20 Luteral 7-20 Progesterone 243 Luteral 65-500 Free Testosterone 31 elevated (normal 8-20) I am only taking 1/2 grain armour upon awaking and again at 6pm...if I take the armour any sooner than 6pm I get terible heart palipations and hyper symptoms, So I have not been able to increase at all. So any help is greatly welcomed as I am desperate to feel better and all of these new things with the shakiness , weakness, and sweating are really scaring me. Guest guest
My first thought is that with a morning cortisol reading that is that low.. to start your day with so much activity on an empty stomach wasn't such a good idea. Until we eat in the morning our body relies on adrenal hormone to get us going... Not sure exactly how all the subtleties of the chemistry of it works.. but I wonder if your body, with the low adrenals, so not able to pull fat energy, wasn't able to get the furnace burning properly. The symptoms were a clue to back off, eat something and give it time to catch up... The option that comes to mind is what I do... I'll run it by you.... watch for what other folks come up with for ideas... see what you think fits what's going on.... If you dose the Armour sublingually, you won't have to work around the empty stomach thing.. you cat eat right away, get the blood sugar/body furnace and all going good... then tuck the Armour dose under your tongue.. It goes into the blood stream faster that way. Don't know if it will be a problem with how your body responds to your dosing... ... that's the thought that came to mind... Guest guest
I think I can count on one hand how often I have had that feeling and usually I was out and about when it happened like in a chain food store. I always headed for the deli and ordered a straight meat (beef or chicken) or hard boiled egg product (high protein) and maybe something desert like for the fast effect. But the meat (protein) I figured was key to last me and give my body time to deal with whatever had been causing this strange hyper insulin like reaction in me that particular day. If I had enough money I might run over to the cheese counter to get some cheese and maybe crackers or maybe a fruit based yogurt with crackers if I thought there was a line at the deli. Like I say I never figured out the cause and could count the times it happened to me on one hand. But it is not a reaction one forgets or takes lightly and yes I too had someone tell me it sounded like an insulin reaction but I am not one who takes insulin so I deemed it to be hypoglycemia. Guest guest
Oh I forgot to mention that I could go 365 days missing breakfast AND lunch by an hour or two and not get this reaction. So mine had to have had something to do with some not everyday encounter for me. Guest guest
Just a thought, your labs showed you were mid range on progesterone. Have you thought about adding some progesterone creme? They say that we start going thru peri-menopause at about 35 years old now. One of the things it does is spike our estrogen and lowers the progesterone. You want them more even levels so they are in balance. Progestrone is also supposed to help balance all the hormones. Can you tell I have been reading at an HRT group? I need to get more dilegent about using the creme. If you want the link to the HRT group let me know. At least you got labs on this stuff my doc just said start taking soy and when I said no way then we compromised with the progesterone. Idiot doc! But the more I'm reading about it. I think progesterone can be a good thing. Guest guest
You have morning adrenal fatigue, as evidenced by your testing, and this is exactly why your body can't handle your morning dose of thyroid. I could bet that this is the dose where you're having the most trouble. Cortisol helps to put thyroid away in your body cells, but if there's nothing there, you are essentially something similar to " over medicated " , if only for that time of day. Looks like you need a small dose of hydrocortisone in the mornings, as it's elevated the rest of the day. Looks like the adrenals are just in the first stage of adrenal fatigue, still able to make it at other time of day, but it is the morning that is most important, as this is the one that wakes you up and keeps you going. I would bet that you either are/or will become a night owl, with all that cortisol going on at night.
