Guest guest
Suzanne - nne is right - the waiting is the worst part of this whole process. Waiting for appointments, tests, test results........it feels endless sometimes. Honestly, you will feel better once you can get some answers and can come up with a plan - if in fact you need to. Stay calm and try not to imagine the worst. Hugs and support! Guest guest
Hi Suzanne, I think the waiting is the worst part! During this time, gather all the knowledge you can as knowledge is power. It's so normal to be scared. You don't know what is ahead, and that's a scary thing! Try to take deep breaths and you'll do it one day at a time. You've come to a great place for knowledge and support. These ladies are the most wonderful, positive, beautiful and supportive ladies I've ever known. This is coming from an 'oldie' being 22 years out from my breast cancer. Blessings, prayers and positive thoughts are with you and all the great, beautiful ladies here. -- Angel (A.K.A. Guest guest
I second that - the waiting gives you time to imagine all sorts of things. The news may not be what you want to hear, but at least you start a plan. Speaking of which, , have you found out your MRI results yet? take care,
Guest guest
Suzanne - There is areason that the doctor wants to see you for follow up. When my first experience with abnormal stuff in the breast occurred, it was a dark brown discharge coming out of both nipples. And I wasn't squeezing the breasts, either. That was in 2003. I had a ductectomy in both breasts at that time. Was told that there was pre-cancerous results at that time but nothing that was cancer. I did kept doing the SBE every year but it wasn't until 2006 that I had mammogram and ultrasound. That is when the tumor was found. I would not have the lump. Early detection is key. Being scared is also part of finding a lump because of the unknown. Most of us here will tell you that knowing is far better than not knowing. We also know that breast cancer is not killing women or men like it used to. There is also an 80% chance that the lump is not cancerous. But you will never know until you talk with your doctor. We are here for you and will support you in just about every way possible. There are so many women who are surviving for many years. I have a Victory in the Valley Peer Support person who survived cancer for 12 years. She is wonderful and answers so many questions, concerns and my fears. That is what we do, too. Please follow up with your doctor. You are too important and too special. Let us know. My prayers are with you.
