I'm sure this topic has been discussed numerous times, but there's so many

messages to

look through that I was having a hard time finding it. I've heard so many bad

things about

Synthroid and so many good things about Armour (from patients that is) so I was

wondering

what everyone's experience with it is.

There is three thyroid medications.

Synthroid and generics.. they are synthetic T4 only medications.

Cytomel is a synthetic T3 only medication.

Armour is a natural form of desicated pig thyroid containing both T4

and T3.

Which one is better really depends on how well your body resonds to

the medication and usually depends on why you are hypo and for how

long.

Some people take tons of Armour and feel well..other can not handle

some much extra T3 in Armour and take small amounts of Armour with

Synthroid..others do well on Synthroid alone or add a little cytomel

and rarely some people add Cytomel to the Armour.

What you need to do is have labs and based on symptoms and labs find

out which one would work best for you.
