It is with heavy heart that I must pass along the following. Sandy Tenburg,

EMT-I, passed away suddenly yesterday evening. Sandy was employed with Texas

Regional EMS and volunteered with Karnes County EMS. She was a great friend and

the care she provided patients came from her heart. Rest easy my friend.

Danny, we share your loss as an EMS family. It is so difficult to lose members

of that family, whether we know them or not. Please accept our condolences and

share them with Sandy's family and other friends.

I originally posted this last June in honor and memory of Blake Wiggins if Stat

Care here in Beaumont, but it is really for every medic lost:

Medic's Lament

There is voice from Heaven crying

Saying " Medic come home. "

" Your mission on earth is over,

Your long journey is done. "

My Savior, Christ, has met me

With His arms held open wide.

" Well done, My faithful servant.

Welcome to Paradise. "

" Here are the people

Whose lives you helped to save.

They are here to thank you

For the efforts that you gave. "

There is a voice from Heaven crying

Saying " Medic come home. "

" Your mission on earth is over,

Your long journey is done. "

The calls that you answered

Were sometimes intense.

And you have seen things in life

That did not always make sense.

Still you gave your all

On each and every scene.

Using all the skills you acquired

And decided what the signs might mean.

There is voice from Heaven crying

Saying " Medic come home. "

" Your mission on earth is over,

Your long journey is done. "

Do you want to talk to the Paramedic in charge or the EMT who knows what's going

on?

A time of condolensces is never an easy time, whether sending or receiving,

because it always means someone has lost a loved one that left a void in the

heart that only God, friends, and time can heal or help. Hoping our condolensces

and friendship as part of the EMS family can in some way ease your pain in this

time of loss.
