Subject: TAAMS Safety Summit in Dallas

All,

Sorry for the delay in this invite.

Next week, on January 13-14, the Texas Association of Air Medical Services

(TAAMS)will be holding a two-day Safety Summit at Flight Safety

International at the DFW airport.

Day one will consist of TAAMS workgroups that will be producing mutually

agreed upon documents on the behavior of Helicopter EMS (HEMS) agencies

within the state. Essentially, we are working on communications, utilization

criteria, medical oversight (medical operational control), weather turndowns

and regional dispatching procedures. The goal is to have guidelines that all

HEMS members will abide by in the interest of public safety. This day will

be attended by Air Medical program leadership.

Day two will be an open forum discussion which is open to all stakeholders

in the state to weigh-in upon. This will be the deconstruction and " build it

from the ground up " of the HEMS system.this is your opportunity for the

users (not HEMS operators) to express your wants if you were to build this

system nationally from day one. This second day will be hosted at Flight

Safety from 0830-1400 and will be mediated by Epley (?).

Again, I apologize for the late notification, and I hope that many of you

can make it.

Please RSVP with me at steve.soliz@....

Happy New Year,

Steve
