Stressed Out

Hi all,

You may remember that I was diagnosed with IDC back in late May. My

Dad died in July after a sudden heart attack and we took him off life

support. That same week, one of my younger sisters (of 5) had a

mammogram at the suggestion of my oncologist that they all have a

screening regardless of age; she too was diagnosed with bc, but dcis.

2 of my other younger sisters delayed getting their screening,

primarily due to grief and their fears. They both finally went in

last Thursday. I'm stressed out because my youngest sister has

been called back in for more films and possibly an ultrasound.

I just don't know how much more my family can handle and I'm feeling

blue and stressed. I rationally know there is a possibility that it

is indeed nothing, but with everything that has happened, we're all

so anxious.

As an aside, we were all tested for the genetic BRCA mutations and 4

of of us have polymorphism NOT known to be related to bc. And my

sister Kris who was diagnosed this sumemr does not have the

polymorphism.

Asking for prayers and positive energy. This board, despite the fact

that I did not post much during treatment, got me through.

Janet B - you and your family are in my prayers. I can certainly

see why you are so stressed out - any of us would be in your

situation. I hope that your sister's scare is just that, but it's

good that you have all been tested now and can deal with whatever

happens. Better to be prepared I guess - even if you don't have

control over it - know what I mean??

Hugs!

Lila,

I'm so sorry to hear of all of your troubles. I can totally empathize. My

only brother was diagnosed with metastic pancreatic cancer last summer. He had

a whipple and is up for another major surgery on the 20th. Hopefully he'll be

cancer free after, yes a true miracle. More recently my wife, who is 35, and we

just had our first son in July, was diagnosed stage IV bc with mets to the

liver. She has just started chemo. Her parents are here in socal to help with

the baby, and her father's only brother had a major heart attack on Tues. He

looks to be doing better, but it certainly does pour when it rains, ironically

we live in the desert. We'll keep your family in our prayers. Lord knows we

all need them.

Namaste,

Heath

" had " breast cancer.. Although we did not go through it all at the same time

like your seem to be.. Let's hope the tests come out good for your sisters....

You must be just over the top right now with worry.. You have come to a good

group for support but then you already know that.... I will say a special

prayer tonight for you and your family..
