Guest guest
Hi Rita, My son is 15 months too. He has had 2 sleep studies when he was younger and it was no picnic.... They pasted wires all over his head and face, put a band around his chest, and expected him to fall asleep and stay asleep despite all this uncomfortable stuff! The worst part was the nasal cannula, they put a tube in his nostrils, I imagine it feels funny and tickles, and they had to tape it down on the sensitive skin on his face because he kept ripping it out! He woke up several times in the night, which wasn't typical for him, it was just all that stuff attached to him kept waking him up. They let me stay with him all night, but of course I hardly got any rest. Anyways, it was worth it because we got really useful information (although it took about 2 weeks for us to get the results back). Wait till you see how Caitlyn moves around to get away from all that equipment! (ha, ha! I had never seen Sam use his hands for any purposeful movement, until he ripped that nasal tube right out!) About the movement: Sam started pulling to stand and cruising before he started crawling (just in the past month), and he still doesn't really sit at all. You said Caitlyn likes to be on her feet, and that reminds me of Sam too- he stands almost all day long now, he would really prefer NOT to sit, ever! I think he built a lot of strength for standing while playing in an Exersaucer, and a Jumperoo. And in the beginning, I would put a favorite toy on the couch and stand him up against the couch to play with the toy while I faded off supporting him from behind. Let us know how the sleep study goes! good luck, Theresa > caitlyn goes into hospital next thurs to have a sleep study done,,, > what do they do how does it work and what do they look for .Also > caitlyn s 15 month now but does not seem to be moving around much she > just rolls every where she does not like to be on her knees we are > told > to do sit to stands but nothing els any advice on how to get her more > mobile i know it will take ages for her to move around much but things > have seemed like they have come to a complete sand still she does sit > up but does not pull her self up nothing i feel like the phsyio should > be doing more to help her when she stands on her feet holding onto our > fingers she is so unsteady but she does like to be on her feet so that > is good what comes next please advise i know there are people out > there > who have a baby about the same age as catilynany idears thanks rita > kellie and caitlyn > > >
