Not sure what you want to know about Arimidex. However, this is what I know

from personal experience and from lots of research. Arimidex is a medication

given to postmenopausal women that had estrogen/progestrone fed tumor(s). It is

supposed to kill off the estrogen/progestrone possibilities. Usually taken one

time a day. I am currently in my fourth week of taking Arimidex. It has

basically the side effect of hot flashes, (which I experienced in menopause) and

bone/joint pain and moodiness. There are a lot of other side effects as well.

I also had an increase in blood pressure and migraine headaches. I am told that

these will get better but right now in is almost intolerable. The doctor last

week also prescribed Celebrex to help with the bone/joint pain. There is also

fatigue and tiredness.

I don't know if I am a good person to say whether is a good thing. If it

helps me to avoid any more cancer and live a quality life, I would say yes, it

is worth it. Right now it isn't. There are other " cousins " to this medication

like Femora that a person can take also. It is up to the doctor as what is

prescribed.

Hope this gives you information that helps.

It is an aromatase inhibitor used in post menopausal er+ women to

prevent the manufacture of estrogen that could combine with the

receptors in er+ cancer causing uncontrolled growth.
