to all the women out there

just as a side note, i want to stress the importance of regular

mammograms. i hate every second of the experience especially after my

biopsy included a 50 minute mammogram so they could insert a wire

into the exact area for the surgeon

my first cancer was detected by self-breast exam. there was a lump.

this cancer showerd microcalcifications (seen only on the maammogram )

which only have a 20% chance of being cancerous. there's no lump.

who knows how long it could have gone undetected? and somehow i find

this to be so unfair. breast cancer is supposed to be the one with

the symptoms and the easiest to find.

i have read a few of your posts and my heart goes out to all of you

and i respect your courage and strength in dealing with more serious

cancers than mine. i know i am one of the fortunate ones who caught

it early not once but twice. but somehow i don't feel very lucky

thank you all for reading this.

My cancer was detected on a routine screening mammogram. I could

feel no lump even after I knew exactly where it was, and it was 3.2

cm. Who knows how much it would have grown before I could feel it?

I know that mammogram saved my life.

My doctor offered me breast conserving surgery, but I chose to have

a bilateral mastectomy. My cancer is T2N0, her2-,es+. I am not

having chemo, just tamoxifen. So far, so good.
