I Just heard from a few friends that work at Greater Dallas EMS that

the Transfer Employees did not get paid and may not get paid until

after next Tuesday. If anyone knows of any job openings for EMT Basics

thru EMT-P. Please Post so that they can go apply.

Any reason why? Seems kind of unusual for them, as they have always paid on

time and they checks never bounced either. Could this be from the raid back in

December...lack of Medicare and other payments?

There are many other services there, but some are very questionable or a

branch off of one that has been closed by the feds and opened under another

name.

know if this is true?? Again, this was RUMOR.? I know that they covered a large

area, I would hate to see them close, but one never knows.

Andy,

Just got some information from someone that is still part-time and it was as I

thought. Since the raid of their service along with the others in Dallas,

Medicare has stopped paying them as of Jan 2007. So, without the money they are

sinking fast according to my friend.

So greedy, sleazy, lowlife owners steal from Medicare and it's the poor

employees that suffer.

I hope the US Attorney there prosecutes them to the fullest extent of the law

if they are guilty, and they get to meet Bubba and Big Larry at the federal

slammer.

Andy,

It is not true that the government found no wrongdoing. They settled the

matter. The US Attorney there is lazy and allowed them to slime out of it.

Well, if they're not guilty they shouldn't be prosecuted. And Medicare

shouldn't have cut off their funding. And the FBI should bring them back all

their stuff and apologize profusely for bothering them.

The guilty should be punished. The innocent should not.

Actually, lazy is inaccurate. It's the Bush administration's philosophy of

not taking business people to court unless it has to. That's their

pro-business stance.

Actually, the right way to do it would have been to prosecute them, get a

conviction, and then require them to pay back everything plus a huge fine.

And yes, they did pay a bunch to get out of it.

The Dallas US Attorney's office is not nearly so " understanding. " They have

a pitbull AUSA there who is pushing prosecutions. She has already gotten

one and more are to come.

Correction. It's not the Houston US Attorney, it's the one in Beaumont, the

USA for the Eastern District of Texas.

Your point is well taken; however, the troops often are pressured by

ownership to fudge the reports, and they may not understand the nuances of it.

But I

have said over and over on here and elsewhere that any employee who aids his

employer in defrauding the federal government is possibly guilty of a RICO Act

violation and plenty vulnerable.

Of course, the gummit needs witnesses, and those people are usually given the

choice of being a witness or a defendant, and the choice is pretty obvious.

Also, employees are not in parity with the owners economically, so many of

them may look the other way in order to keep their jobs. Doesn't make it

right.

As long as the government allows people to get away with simply paying the

money back these crimes will continue. Some people need to go to jail to stop

it. I hope the Dallas USA's office will step up to the plate and do its job.

Lazy might be a little bit too strong of a charge. From personal

experience I can tell you the U.S. Attorneys are mandated to recover

the money whenever possible and prosecution comes secondary to that.

This is mandated from way on high. I'd bet the main subjects of the

Gold Star prosecution gave up a bunch to get out from under the

criminal charges and the prosecutors took what they could to settle.

Always possible but highly unlikely. Do you have any idea how high

the bar is for probable cause to get a search warrant signed by a

federal magistrate? The bloke must be almost totally convinced of

guilt before setting pen to dotted line. Look at the ones they raided

a year before. The Federales took those 4 for 4, with 3 giving up the

gold and the last guy standing getting 10 years federal time and

guilt of the owners.

Yeah, I feel for the employees, but please don't try to tell me they

were ignorant of the crimes being committed by the owners.

Thanks for the speculation, rumors, and of course the opinions of

which are all expected. However - No guilt and no settlement. No

fines, no agreements, nothing paid etc etc. Sometimes innocence is

just that innocence. Everyone wants it to be more or less but it is

what it is. An angry person makes an accusation, and the accusation

was not founded. Simple as that, with a Bow - the curtain closes.

From the Goldstar times I don't know what they gave up to get out of

it but they certianly did. It is sad for those of us that worked

there and had a bomb shell dropped on us. It seemed just all of the

sudden without much warning out of a job and out of the money that

they owe us. They still owe tons of medical bills and money to

peoples retirement funds, and who knows what else that is just what

I am owed. It is sad for those of us that lost a lot because of what

they did, and to think they all got away with what they did. Oh yeah

and to claim they are ministers!

Hey, there are things known as class action suits. See a lawyer. I don't

know whether or not the statute of limitations has run. But if they have ANY

assets you might be able to get them. Another technique is for every

employee to file a separate suit against them for back wages up to the

jurisdictional level of the Justice Court. That can be done without a lawyer.

Hit them

with several hundred suits that they have to either defend or have default

judgments. Once a judgment is final, it can be abstracted and filed, and it

latches onto any property they have. They couldn't sell a house, for example

without paying the judgment.

Oh, and beware of preachers. Mother they ain't. Scumbags SOME of

them are. I go by the " car test. " If a preacher drives a high-priced car,

he falls into the scumbag category.

Boever, one of the co-founders of GoldStar has challenged my statments

about Goldstar having settled the claims against them.

My comments were based upon information I received from a government source.

Mr. Boever has contacted me and demanded a retraction.

He has stated that he has a document that absolves him and his company of all

wrongdoing, that no payments or settlements of any sort were made. I have

suggested that he make that document available to me or to the public. If I

receive such a document, or if he publishes it here, and it can be

authenticated, and in fact it does absolve both him personally and Goldstar from

all

wrongdoing, I shall issue a public apology to him on this list. An innocent

person should not be maligned, and I have no interest in maligning the innocent.
