Guest guest
Hi, I had a biopsy 2 weeks ago (as of Feb 5) and STILL only know that I have IDC with a T2 tumor. I am STILL waiting for the other info so I can start looking up things on the Internet! This is all VERY new to me, and I am scared and getting angry that I have to keep getting more tests for other areas and postponing surgery - when they said I should have surgery soon! If they want me to have surgery soon - what do they know that they aren't telling me? I also want to know if having VERY fibrosystic breasts have anything to do with breast conservation, treatment and the lumpectomy itself. Any suggestions? Thanks! Guest guest
I sure would think by now they should have the results back. A lot of drs want bone scans, EKG's, blood work etc. done before surgery. Bone scans and MRI's can tell if the cancer has spread past the breast and/or lymph nodes. Have you asked your dr if he is giving you ALL the info? Its your body and your right to know everything, if you want to. Some women have no desire to know whats going on and why they are getting certain tests/treatments. Call your dr tomorrow and find out whats going on. You will be in my prayers. Guest guest
Did your surgeon do a Sentinel Node Biopsy as part of your surgery? That would determine your staging. Right now, with a T2 tumor, you could be Stage 1 or 2 depending on whether your nodes are clear. What additional surgery is your surgeon recommending? By 2 weeks your surgeon should have the results for esterogene & pregesterone status. The her2status can take longer. If you are stage 1 or 2, then other tests (Scans, MRIs) may not be necessary. I would definitely follow up with your surgeon to get a clearer understanding of where you are in this process and what more tests or surgery need to be done. take care, joyofenya wrote on 2/4/2007, 5:29 PM: > Hi, > I had a biopsy 2 weeks ago (as of Feb 5) and STILL only know that I > have IDC with a T2 tumor.
