Guest guest
MICKI I am new to the group and having all sorts of problems with thyroid/goiter. What are goiter foods?? -- RE: soy nuts , That is very interesting. I’m allergic to soy. I was just asking because a friend of mine and I were talking about soy. I used to like soy nuts, probably still do. But I’d rather limit the goiter foods and have the ones I actually enjoy and get other benefits from. So why do they still push soy as a health food when we know so much about it. Uuugghh I know don’t get us started!! i swear the gov’t wants us to stay sick. So they put this in our foods. hugs Micki Health Eating and Living Together http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/he2gether_/ www.stopthethyroidmadness.com From: The_Thyroid_Support_Group [mailto:The_Thyroid_Support_Group ] On Behalf Of topper2@...Sent: Thursday, April 05, 2007 4:50 PMTo: The_Thyroid_Support_Group Subject: Re: soy nuts I'll let you decide... but consider this... when I was hyper and then went into storm I CRAVED roasted soy nuts more than chocolate, more than anything... I popped them one after the other..... After my RAI and with my gland dead... I tried some , back in those days they were considered healthy, no one knew any better and I figured that I keep up with my 'healthy' eating.... I spit them out.. they were gross, disgusting putrid.... Didn't know why my tastes changed, either for the nuts, or away from the nuts... until I found out that non fermented soy contains a natural antithyroid chemical.... My body had been craving them to counteract my hyperactive gland output... when I no longer had a gland, and was low on hormone, my body rejected them.... Broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, peanuts (occasionally), strawberries. I’m not big on all the other foods. But I try to get a least one of those a week. But usually it’s not that often. Examples of foods that contain goitrogens Cruciferous vegetables including: Broccoli Brussel sprouts Cabbage Cauliflower Kale Kohlrabi Mustard Rutabaga Turnips Millet Peaches Peanuts Radishes Soybean and soy products, including tofu Spinach Strawberries Micki Health Eating and Living Together http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/he2gether_/ www.stopthethyroidmadness.com From: The_Thyroid_Support_Group [mailto:The_Thyroid_Support_Group ] On Behalf Of Sho Sent: Thursday, April 05, 2007 11:54 PM To: The_Thyroid_Support_Group Subject: RE: Micki soy nuts MICKI I am new to the group and having all sorts of problems with thyroid/goiter.
