I read more about the theory of taking T4 only meds at bedtime. If I want to try this, what would be the best thing to do on the first day, so that I'm not taking a double dose. Right now, I take it in the morning. I have 50mcg tablets, so I take 2 one day and 3 the next. If I wait until a 100mcg day (2 pills), then I could take one in the AM and one at bedtime for the first day, and then take the 150mcg dose the next night. Or the other way around. What makes the most sense to all y'all?

T4 has a half life of 7 days, so I would just miss the morning dose and

take it 12 hours later in the PM. Then you can switch your T4 dosing to

follow in the pm at 24 hour intervals.

I'd transition....

On a three pill day take two in the morning, one at night

next day, 2 pill day, take one in the morning, one at night

next day, 3 pill day, one in the morning, 2 at night

next day, 2 pill day, both at night

...then keep going with nights.

For my sensitive body.. that would be the easiest way.

Sounds like a plan! If I do it, I'll do it this way and let y'all know if there's any benefit... Judy

Hi Sue. I wondered where you were. There was discussion about a study that showed better labs for people taking T4 meds at bedtime instead of in the morning. I may try it. The theory is that it says in the system longer and has more time to absorb.

You can read about it here...

Hi Judy, thanks, very interesting.... man, the things you learn on the internet, huh?

I may try taking my 2nd dose later in the day; right now I split my .112 levo in the am and then afternoon and will try shifting that to bedtime...

sounds good to me.

I want my t3f levels up and this could be better than raising the amount of hormone, it’s worth a shot.

thanks!

Sue
