Guest guest
Dear - I think it means a significant enough risk that insurance companies will pay for the additional testing. Like when I was pregnant (the last time was 12 years ago!), amniocentesis was paid for after the age of 35 because the risk was 1 in 200, or half of one percent. Also, I could be way outdated, but in general the occurrence of CHARGE is 1 in 10,000 births, or one hundredth of one percent. So one percent is one hundred times greater the probability...... Probability is funny. We have three boys. Each time, statistically we had a 50/50 chance ;o) So in my life it either is or it isn't. Probability is fun in black jack ;o) take good care- Yuka Re: Re: Testing OK, now I am a tad worried. 1% percent is considered a significant risk? I took that number and instantly speculated that it meant the risk were low. Thanks, , Mama to Zoey(4-25/7-31-2006) CHargE Prenatal testign should be covered by insurance, as 1% is considered a significant risk. .
