Welcome Tina. I also lost weight on a similar high protein diet called MD

Diet, about 4 years ago. I lost 65 pounds and kept it off until I moved and

I allowed stress to take over. Weight Watchers is about living and about

long term health. I still battle with the effects of stress, but I feel more

in control than ever before since using Weight Watchers as a tool to health.

I read an article in the " Parade " today that was quite interesting. It

discussed feeding the brain to lose weight. Their premise was that

" positive affirmations " are key to losing weight. Something like this: My

current weight is 170 pounds, and my first goal is to lose 5 pounds. So, I

say to myself every day that I weight 165 pounds, and I eat and exercise

like someone who weighs 165 pounds. They suggest that the subconcious mind

will react to the statement by trying to help you reach the goal. Then when

you achieve that, you do the process again, adjusting the weight and goal to

fit. I think I'll try that, at least it can't hurt, right?

This is a great group, very supportive, and they share lots of recipe's. I

look forward to seeing your posts.

Hi; I joined WW yesterday and am happy to have been able to find this

list. I'm interested in this one as I'm looking for serious losers:)

I recently came off of Atkins diet which I have been on for about 1.5

years. It was successful except when I reached my goal, I didn't know what

to do with myself. That way of eating is not " normal " for lifetime

maintenance. So I gained back 20 lbs over two months. I'm ever so grateful

that I caught myself at this stage.

I have done WW before and know that it is a well rounded program. I'm

really looking forward to having cereal and fruit. A year and a half is a

long time without this stuff.

I joined online and am raring to go.

Annie,

welcome to the group. There are a nice group of people here all with the

same problem, weight. Alot of support from all and alot of ideas are given to

us all. I know what you mean about the baby weight. I had three children and

always had alot of weight left with two of them. The third one I was on

weight watchers and was below what I weighted when I found out I was pregnant.

Only problem was I decided I could do it on my own and not attend meetings.

Well, guess what it didn't work. I'm back at W.W. again after a number of

starts

and stops but this time is the charm. I'm going to lose this weight for my

health and for me. Good luck to you.

Marge

Yeah, it is pretty cool. Except that I meant that

'pounds' was abbreviated 'lbs.'

Hello,

I am a new member to this group! It must be a great group if you

I weight 170lbs and my height is 5' 1 " . I need to lose about 30lbs

so I can feel good! I had a baby 17 months ago and I don't want to

say it's baby weight anymore. I also just moved from NYC to Detroit

and I've been eating away the fact that I miss my family and

friends. I go to meetings at work and I have a leader!

Any support will do.

Welcome Annie!

I'm here in Grand Rapids, MI. A transplant also from NYC - Staten Island to

be exact. Lived in NJ for a few years too.

Anyone else here in Grand Rapids, MI?
