Guest guest
I’m getting really annoyed with labcorp – they tech did all the wrong tests on me, but in doing so she did the Epstein barr virus lab test. I don’t’ have the actually numbers with me. But I saw them and they are way off the charts. Like the high was like 100/200 range and mine is over 2000. So I was wondering if anyone knew info this virus. I don’t ever recall having mono, I’ve been tested before for it, but nothing ever showed up. Is there a way to lower these numbers or will it be this high the rest of my life?? Thanks for any info. hugs Micki Health Eating and Living Together http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/he2gether_/ http://mouster71.blogspot.com/ www.stopthethyroidmadness.com
Guest guest
--- Yes, I have been tested for EBV about 15 years ago, it was off the scale high. I had a false-positive Mono. It caused CFS that lasted about 1 year. After all of that time, in the autumn of 2005 I was diagnosed with Grave's disease and had RAI. I now feel that same fatigue but even worse. My EBV after all of these years has come back to a very high range. I have heard for a long time, there was a connection between EBV and autoimmune disease. Well, Grave's is autoimmune. Guest guest
Every doc I've seen for thyroid stuff has asked if I ever had mono. I had a really bad case of it back in 1998-1999 and took me about two years to get through all the secondary infections, just to find out years later that the reason I never felt well afterward was highly likely due to it whacking my thyroid, at least that's what the docs all say. I don't have any actual literature on the subject, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to search the net for, but I was told there was a high rate of thyroid patients who had mono at some point. You can have mono without having been aware of it, too, just having been exposed and your body fought it off but then your ebv levels will come back high showing you have been exposed at some point to it. After exposure, I have heard that you will always test positive for the rapid mono tests due to the antibody being always present in the blood after having had it or being exposed to it. That's just what the docs told me when I told them a year after I had somewhat recovered from the initial mono illness process, I thought I had it again and the doc told me they could test for it but it would just be positive anyway, so they did the whole "supportive therapy" thing instead, just treating symptoms. Never checked thyroid. Probably would have shown elevated TSH even then. www.Lane.com www.IwakuniMCAS.com http://stewartlane.com/gallery/ Be sure to check at the bottom of every set of pictures for more pages in the set. Guest guest
, Very interesting. Thanks for the input. My ND thinks with the elevated levels that is part of my fatique along with adrenals that are not quite there and just stopping effexor. My body has been through the wringer. Now what I would like to know is if there are natural remedies we can do that will help make us feel better from all thie fatique. And the fatique from the elevated levels. Since we will be home today with a sickie I’ll get a chance to research some today. hugs Micki Health Eating and Living Together http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/he2gether_/ http://mouster71.blogspot.com/ www.stopthethyroidmadness.com From: The_Thyroid_Support_Group [mailto:The_Thyroid_Support_Group ] On Behalf Of Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2007 9:55 PM To: The_Thyroid_Support_Group Subject: Re: Re: O.T. Guest guest
I know I have a mild clotting disorder which is an autoimmune disorder and I possible have hashi's but don't have the antibodies to prove it. I told my dtr (endo) how I've felt over the past several years and he goes " your thyroid acts like hashimotos, but you don't have the antibodies " but I have since learned that one can have hashimotos and the antibodies be suppressed. I can say armour has helped with the mood swings I used to have when synthroid didn't. hugs Micki Health Eating and Living Together http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/he2gether_/ http://mouster71.blogspot.com/ www.stopthethyroidmadness.com Re: O.T. Guest guest
Sorry, I will find the link when I have a chance. I know because my numbers do not fit my symptoms that I was told to be tested as the antibodies to the virus effect the mouseDNA?? in regards to blood work and can faslely increase or decrease the lab results. The labs do have another test that can be used instead and maybe this is why the labs accidently ran the test on you. I am off to work , tried doing a quick search for it but will need to dig it out. If anyone else knows what I am talking about and has the links please post as I work all week end. Kats3boys
