Guest guest
, Congtatulations on your exchange surgery. I know it's a relief to you. My expanders have been in since December 4th, I am doing chemo now and so the expanders have to still until I'm done. That means no more surgery until mid-May. They hurt all of the time; the one on my left side is so far up that it feels like it's cutting into my underarm. Anyway, I just wanted to say best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery with this part of the process and thanks for your message...it made me hopeful and made my day. > > > > hi, > > i had my exchange surgery yesterday. i'm a bit sore today. when > i stand > > up, it feels like i'm being hung by my chest!! i guess there will > be no push > > ups today!!!!! i > am glued back > > together and covered with what looks like a white duct tape. i > remember > > they used the same for my mastectomy. it's a bit painful coming > off!!!! thank > > god we don't have hair on our chests!!!!! i can't wait to see > what my new > > boob looks like. i have a compression bandage on which has to > stay in place > > for 10 days. lots of sponge baths along with my husband washing > my hair. i > > can handle that!!!! it will be a nice treat. all in all the > surgery went > > well. i have a great PS and the nursing staff was excellent. > phase 3 of this > > whole process and proceeding forward. i can handle this!! have a > good day > > all. > > lorena > > > > > >
Guest guest
Kim Thank you so much for your response to .. I too am having some problems with expanders.. but hopefully they will be exchanged out in April.. I also have one that is so high up on my chest, very tight and gets under my armpit.. I am having capsular contracture due to the radiation last fall.. We are now waiting the 6-8 months following to see what our options might be..My double mastectomy was June 2006.. still lots of burning nerve pain both sides.. left is the worse.. I am doing some research into Diep.. where they use your own tissue.. I am in California so looking at doctors here first before going out of state if that what I end up choosing.. Sending happy prayers out to , and all of us who are at different stages with recovery and ..restoration.. Cheryl
