Taken from another forum (two, in fact !) :

I wanted to announce you a great big good news : the birth of the

International Thyroid Patient Organisation ( or ITPO ) . Thyroid

patients from all over the world have got together and decided to

create this to have all thyroid patients united together in one

movement so that we have a big lobby power and can better fight for

better treatment . We have teamed up with the good doctors of the

world who are fighting together with us , and in particular Dr.

Thierry Hertoghe and the International Hormone Society ( IHS ) . If

we stand together , the patients and the doctors , we will win !

I hope that very very many of you will participate and subscribe .

Actually it's not about money , the membership is free and no strings

attached . It's about helping the patients , and also the doctors ,

because as may here probably know , the doctors who help us ( for

example by prescribing natural thyroid ) are often persecuted and

many have lost their license for treating their patients right ! We

absolutly have to put an end to that ! It's intolerable that doctors

are forced out of business because they save their patients' lifes ,

and also if it continues like that , we patients may soon not find

any good doctors any more ! For example Dr. Skinner in the UK is

right now in that situation and needs our help , just as we patients

need him ! With 1000 , 2000 , ..... 3000 members or more the ITPO

will be very powerfull and they WILL listen to us !

Something like this has never existed , an association federating all

thyroid patients of the world together . I don't know why . Probably

someone just had to think of it to get it started . It should have

existed since a long time .

When you click on " patient " , you see two possibilities : you can

become member of the Thyroid Patient Organisation , and you can also

become a member of the IHS . If you wish to support hormone therapy

in general , you are very welcome to become a member of the patient

section of the IHS . Membership is equally free . ------ And you can

of course also become member of both ! ;-)

I hope that I can count on your cooperation and that we will reach

the 1000 very soon . Everbody can make a difference !
