Special Bulletin from the

Hypoparathyroidism Association, Inc.

Update on the Second Annual Hypoparathyroidism Patient Conference

There are about six weeks left in order to make reservation at the Rosslyn Holiday Inn in Arlington, Virginia in order to receive the special discount they have offered members attending the conference. You can click “HERE” for more detailed information about the conference itself.

We have been working hard to find speakers which can shed some light on the future of Hypoparathyroidism and an FDA approved treatment regime. Even thought the speaker list is almost complete the schedule close to being finalized, we are continuing to work to make the conference meaningful to everyone who attends it. The current speaker agenda and schedule can be found by clicking “HERE.”

As many of you are aware, the Washington D.C. area has a plethora of activities for families and individuals. You might be able to arrange a family vacation around June 8-9 so you would be able to attend the conference. Seating is limited due to restrictions placed on us by the Holiday Inn.

If you would like to meet dozens of Hypoparathyroidism patients from around the United States and the world, and would like to hear what some of the most prominent members of the medical profession in the world have to say about the future of Hypoparathyroidism, you should go to our web site by clicking “HERE” and reserving your spot at the conference.

Reservations with the Rosslyn Holiday Inn can be made with them directly. Information about the hotel can be found by clicking “HERE.”

The cost for the conference is $100 per adult and $50 per child to the age of twelve. You can reserve your seat and pay for the conference by clicking “HERE.” We have Pay Pal available for payment by credit card, or you can pay by check or money order by sending the conference fees to…

Update on the Second Annual Hypoparathyroidism Patient Conference

Hypoparathyroidism Association

April Bulletin

June Conference Update

One of our members, who had attended the first conference last year, recently wrote to me. She told me “the first conference changed our lives. It gave us a sense of family unity, that we are not suffering alone, and most of all, HOPE.”

Space at the Second Annual Hypoparathyroidism Association patient Conference is filling up, and we encourage you to reserve your seat at it and make the necessary plans to enable you to attend. Not only will you be able to meet other Hypoparathyroidism patients from all over the world and the United States, and their families, you will have the opportunity to be able to hear from and meet some of the leading experts in hypoparathyroidism and be able to talk with them. You can view the current conference schedule and list of the speakers by clicking “SCHEDULE.”

You will also learn more about ongoing patient studies which will eventually lead to a FDA approved treatment for Hypoparathyroidism and you can take home information which you can use yourself and share with your primary care Physician.

Shortly after we had sent out the announcements about the conference we discovered there was a problem with Pay Pal. Fixing it took several weeks and we think it is working just fine now. You can get information and make reservations for the conference at the Rosslyn Holiday Inn in Arlington, Virginia, by clicking “RESERVATIONS.”

If you want to attend this important conference and be able to visit with some of the leading physicians in the world of Hypoparathyroidism and meet other HPTH patients, you have a few options available to you for registration.

1. You can register and pay by credit card using the secure Pay Pal Link on our web site.

2. You can call our Treasurer, Hunsaker, at and you can use credit card to register. If you should need to leave a message, please just leave your name and number with a good time to return your call (please do not leave any credit card information, for safety’s sake).

3. You can utilize snail mail and register that way. Just send a check or money order to us at the address below, along with information of those who will be attending the conference.

Our mailing address is: Hypoparathyroidism Association, Inc.

P.O. Box 2258

A receipt will be sent to you acknowledging your registration. Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at hpth (AT) hpth (DOT) org.

Available seats at the Conference are going fast, so we hope you make your reservation with us soon to guarantee your seat at the conference.

The special discount rate at the Rosslyn Holiday Inn of $109 per king room per night is only good until May 7, 2007, and then the room rate will increase to over $200 per room per night. The phone number to make reservations at the Rosslyn Holiday Inn is 1- or toll free by dialing 1-. I should point out this special rate of $109 per king room was a special rate given to people attending the conference. You might be able to get better room rates by using discount booking services and other travel programs, such as AARP, AAA, and others.

Spring Issue of the Hypoparathyroidism Association Newsletter Is On-Line

The spring issue of our quarterly newsletter is available on-line, and can be accessed by clicking “Spring HPTH Newsletter.”

Patient Information Pamphlets Are Now Available

Last year we had to curtail distribution of our patient information pamphlets until a few mistakes could be corrected. I am happy to announce that they are now available again on our web site in the Articles Section under Pamphlets. They can be viewed by clicking “Pamphlets.” This link provides additional links to each of the pamphlets as well as instructions for printing them.

Many of you requested copies of the pamphlets when I first made the announcement, but I lost the list I was compiling. You would understand if you could see my office.

Please let me know by mail or e-mail if you want copies and I will get them in the mail to you right away. I apologize for any inconvenience.

We hope you will take advantage of this valuable resource. All of the pamphlets were reviewed by Dr. A. Levine, Dr. Mishaela Rubin and Dr. Bilezikian who are all part of our Medical Advisory Group.

Conclusion

I hope this special bulletin finds each of you happy and healthy during this special time of the year where many of us celebrate Easter. We hope to see you at the conference in June!
