I just went back and re-read my post and I did say " racket " . I

honestly don't remember typing that (which is why I denied it in the

post I just sent) but I guess that is what you get when you just type

something without giving it much thought as to who would actually be

reading it (that is the downfall of the internet-you feel like you

are responding to the person who wrote the post without thinking

about everyone else that can/will read your post). I also gave out

the date of our appointment (again, without thinking) so it is clear

somehow you know that I didn't cancel my appointment (yes, I also

read that I said " I am going to cancel " not that " I am thinking about

cancelling " ). I didnt' re-read the rest of my post (perhaps I was

afraid of what else I might stumble upon!!) so if there is anything

else I denied you can certainly set me straight.

Obviously if I could take back calling her practice a racket I would,

but you can't unsay something you said. I don't think she is running

a racket, she is running a very successful business and she has every

right to do so. I certainly had no right to say she was running

a " racket " and for that I do apologize (again, typing without

thinking of the impact of my words). I do feel that the parents of

special needs kids get shafted left and right because we are all

willing to spend our last dime if there is even a small chance that

whatever we are buying will " fix " our child. However, she is a well-

respected specialist (as attested to by the many people on this board

who have seen her) and I degraded her to the level of a common thug

and for that I am truly sorry.

But, I also can't help but wonder about the professionalism of her

office if they confirmed to you that my daugther still has an

appointment there on that date. No doubt that even if I don't cancel

the appointment her office will cancel us as a patient (and I can't

say I would blame her), but it blows my mind that given the strict

HIPPA laws that they would confirm anything with you (our therapists

make me sign waivers for them to talk to my own mother about my

daughter!!).

well, lesson learned on my part. First off, never type something

quickly wihtout giving much thought to how things are worded because

you never know who will read them. Second, I never give much thought

to posting whatever I want about any of our specialists (I would

never lie about them, but certainly vent) without ever giving a

thought to them actually reading my words. I have learned that you

never know who will be reading your posts so if you wouldn't say the

words to the person you are typing about, don't type them!!
