Googled flying+diabetics and found Dare To Dream:

Flying Solo With Diabetes by Cairns. I

incorrectly remembered

Cairns testing hourly. He brings many snacks with him

when flying

and has flown solo round the world. Three nations

including the

US and the UK allow diabetics to have pilots licenses.

BTW I love visiting England, Scotland and Wales and

bicycled round Scotland the summer of '73.
