Guest guest
and my t4 is so low its out of range, so i added levothyroxine, and at first i felt better, and then i began to have eye problems. i felt more depressed, but my labs were the best they've ever been. i even tried thyrolar, and got so tired i couldn't move. i am horrifed that i can't tolorate t4. it was obvious from my labs that i'm converting, but i felt so, so bad. i am still just on the comp. t3, and i am also very low in female hormones as i only have 1 ovary. i also tried compounded t4, and that hurt my eyes the worst. i have pain and they tear up. as soon as i stop the meds, they get better. i guess at this point i need to try armour, but i was trying to keep it simple. thanks everyone
Guest guest
Sounds more to me like an allergic reaction to a filler or binder in the levo. Have you tried many brands of it, or only the one? Which brand(s)? i have a crazy response to t4....i have been taking compounded t3 for a year, > and my t4 is so low its out of range, so i added levothyroxine, and at > first i felt better, and then i began to have eye problems. i felt more > depressed, but my labs were the best they've ever been. i even tried > thyrolar, and got so tired i couldn't move. i am horrifed that i can't > tolorate t4. it was obvious from my labs that i'm converting, but i > felt so, so bad. i am still just on the comp. t3, and i am also very > low in female hormones as i only have 1 ovary. i also tried compounded > t4, and that hurt my eyes the worst. i have pain and they tear up. as > soon as i stop the meds, they get better. i guess at this point i need > to try armour, but i was trying to keep it simple. thanks everyone

Guest guest
I react badly to Synthetic T4 too.... it's a cumulative thing, as it builds in my system I start having tendon problems... some of us just don't do well on it... Guest guest
You're Frees are too low and your TSH is too high.. TSH needs to be suppressed, in the below 1.0 mark, ideally near zero.... > my antibodies did go down from 4600 to 1800, but now they are back to 4400 > tsh -1.5 > free t4-.62 (.61-1.76) > free t3 3.6 (2.3-4.2). and here's the kicker...this whole year on t3 i could > never get my free t3 levels past 2.9, and after starting the t4, they > went up!! The antibodies react to the TSH levels and gland activity, the higher the TSH level the more stimulation to the thyroid gland tissue. Me thinks you have to get your levels up by increasing your dose.. The Free T4 is rock bottom, so there isn't enough there for conversion... the T3 is about mid range, didn't do the math so I'm ball parking.... but that likely needs to be higher for you to feel well... most folks feel best with the Free T3 near the top end of the range... The eye thing.... Some one had mentioned a possible sensitivity to the fillers in the Synthroid... options there would be to try a different brand of synthetic or to go to natural thyroid. Can you give us a rough time line on dosages? You started out with what pills/dose and what were your adjustments, rough time (like 2 months, 3 months, 12 months) and the amounts.... Refresh my brain.... when we were gabbing before.... you are on the timed release capsules of T3 and didn't respond well to Armour when it was tried? Or am I mixing you up with someone else? If I am, my apologies....
