Guest guest
In having lunch with a friend of mine, who is also the preschool/Kindergarten DHH teacher, she was sharing about a darling three year old boy in her class. He tends to have sensory overload issues and has challenges regulating himself - and one of the things he seems to do spontaneously is throw things! What she does is look at him and remind him " you know if you throw it you have to go get it and put it back. " He pulls a face, gets cross, but he does go and get the thrown object, and sometimes sulkily throws it back to where it belongs. But then all is good, he is not held in any shame, and he gets lots of smiles for a job well done - even if he gives it extra attitude ;o) It;s great to have plans of action and options, isn't it? ) smiles~! yuka
