Guest guest
I know the part about nothing growing on it is true.. that flies don't even like it..that I've seen.... and the part that it's molecular structure is a sneeze short of plastic.. Yep.. heard that as well as the part that it messes up cholesterol worse than REAL butter... But they still sell the stuff cuz it's cheap to make and has a great profit margin. We just have to be logical... why would they pull a product off the market that makes them soooo much money? It won't be until all these nasties are killing off the customer base that they'll do something... Look at cigarettes.... they can't advertise on TV anymore... so they had to find other ways of marketing and in so doing found that by concentrating efforts on snagging kids, not only have they picked up the slack in sales, they insure the future market once they have the kids hooked.... sorry.. pet peeve of mine.... the widespread sale of substances that are KNOWN to cause health concerns in US. soy (soy by products, found to be too expensive to dispose of were first fed to livestock as a cheap source of protein, when the offspring of the animals that it was fed to were born so grotesquely deformed as to be unusable, even for butcher, a new use was found - they found ways to use it in people.) HFCS (chemically modified sugars in corn were found to be sweeter, to the taste, than sugar. It was inexpensive to produce, even cheaper to obtain due to shorter shipping distance and no import taxes and then, the added bonus....... it was found that it creates a craving in the user to want more of the non nutritive ingredient - legal addictive chemical) Tobacco (with us for centuries, natural chemical components found to be highly addictive, and lethal. To increase the addictive factor tobacco leaves are now said to be treated with cocaine during the drying process) Fluoride (toxic by product of a manufacturing process, the costs involved to dispose of this hazardous waste were found to be prohibitive. When it was found that there as a 'positive' effect on teeth it was promoted as the magic cure for bad teeth and is now added to municipal water supplies - even though it was used previously as a THYROID KILLER for those suffering from hyperthyroidism. It's negative effects are known but no one is doing anything about it, except that they now keep it out of toothpaste for little kids - ever watch the commercials? Fluoride free so it's safe for children that are just learning to brush their teeth to swallow) Carageenan (a sea weed based product that is broken down into several stages. One of it's forms is used to de-ice planes. It's widely used as a cheap replacement for real dairy ingredients in cheese, ice cream, desserts, etc. It's also used as a thickener in sauces and gravies. In our bodies it continues to break down, in one of it's stages it's a STRONG carcinogen. Some people are deathly allergic to it and can go into anaphylactic shock. Myself, when it's combined with another cheap 'filler' - guar gum, causes explosive diarrhea and vomiting) Splenda (chemically modified sugar. Depending on how the digestive tract of the individual consuming it functions it either a sweet tasting calorie free sweetener OR its chemically broken down into it's components sugar and chloride and calories OR it's broken down into it's components - sugar and chloride and in the sensitive person it kills them. Nutri-sweet... (originally an ant poison, to those that are sensitive to it, it causes symptoms that mimic MS.) ........that's not even getting into the genetic modification of our basic food sources.... I have to stop before I start to cry... Topper () On Fri, 16 Mar 2007 11:34:09 -0400 " Teague" writes: does anyone know if these things are true??
