Without delving into the personal nature of the trauma involved here, confirming/denying/discussing personal matters, I'd like to ask a question that I don't know the answer to (yeah, I know that can be a dangerous thing): Are suicides committed as a result of PTSD or an acute stress reaction due to an on-duty incident considered line of duty deaths? I would personally assert that since we do classify suicide as a psychiatric disorder (i.e. it has a diagnostic code, or something equivalent), and if an attempt (successful or not) is related to an on-duty stress incident, that attempts with injuries should be treated as worker's comp and completed attempts should be classified as line of duty deaths, with all the aggregate benefits. Again, I am *NOT* talking in any way, shape or form about *THIS* incident - it just spawned a question that I'd like to see answered. My condolences to the family...
