I was told that ringing in the ears and having stopped up ears is a

problem with adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism. My niece was just

diagnosed with acoustic neuroma NF II. This also causes ear problems

and I was wondering how to know if you should get an MRI or not. If

the HC is clearing up the ear problem most of the time, then do you

know it is definitely not anacoustic neuroma?

Finally something I really have knowledge on. I was born with holes in

my ears, no eardrums. Had to be reconstructed at the age of 6. My

specialist told me that an EMG test would identify whether or not you

had a balance problem and an MRI will define whether or not you have an

accoustic neuroma. I had both tests done. Me because of my repetitive

ear surgeries throughout my life. He recommmends that I keep tubes in

my ears because it improves drainage in my ears and should help me

mainatin my balance which is out of kilter because of an abnomality in

one of my ears. I conatantly have ringing in the ears aand mine

playback all the tones and noises used in a hearing test.

I am not sure what you are referring to by " HC " I don't know if I was

actually born with a thyroid disorder or not I just rememebr that I use

to eat like a horse without gaining weight until I was in 9th grade

when I presume my metabolism changed. It wasn't until I was in my late

20s that I was diagnosed with depression and hypothyroid then a year

later diabetes.

If you haven't already thought about it I would get a second opinion

and if you want to know definitively if she has a neuroma or not to

have that MTI done.
