does anyone know if these things are true??

Most people probably already know this.Pass The Butter ~ ~ ~ ~ This is interesting . . . . .Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When itkilled the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into theresearch wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figureout what to do with this product to get their money back. It was awhite substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloringand sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it?They have come out with some clever new flavorings.DO YOU KNOW..the difference between margarine and butter?Read on to the end...gets very interesting! Both have the same amount of calories.Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to5 grams.Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% overeating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard MedicalStudy.Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients inother foods.Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few onlybecause they are added!Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance theflavors of other foods.Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been aroundfor less than 100 years. And now, for Margarine..Very high in trans fatty acids.Triple risk of coronary heart disease.Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol)and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.Lowers quality of breast milk.Decreases immune response.Decreases insulin response. And here's the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT ISVERY INTERESTING!Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for lifeand anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, hanging the molecular structure of the substance). You can try this yourself:Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shadedarea. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (thatshould tell you something)* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritionalvalue; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganismswill not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic.Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?Share This With Your Friends.....(If you want to "butter them up")!Chinese Proverb:"When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit fromit, you have a moral obligation to share it with others."

Hi , I don't know how many of those details are true, but my doctor told me to stay away from margarine and said it's bad for people with endocrine/thyroid disorders. He actually recommended I use butter because it's natural. M. Teague wrote: does anyone know if these things are true?? I stopped eating margarines about 4 yrs ago and now only eat butter and probably lots of it. Always have low triglycerides, always have low cholesterols (so far), always high in HDL and low in LDL. When I found out how poisonous margarine is, is when I stopped it. Ate the stuff ALL my life before that. The fact that it almost always has soy oil in it (in addition to the corn oil ones, that they SAY are better for you, but soy is almost always included in the formula) and is always hydrogenated was enough for me, then. I did not know about the breast milk and some other things on here. BTW, I love olive oil now, as I also changed to my cooking with that the same 4 yrs or so ago, virgin cold pressed olive oil, but I can't STAND that stuff they are calling margarine or whatever called Benecol (I think?) and the products like that, they taste HORRIBLE to me! I'll stick with my salted butter, thank you, the ones with no colorings added, etc...

hi,

when eating we should always look to see how close it is to how it

was grown or from an animal. butter is by far the better choice than

any of the margarine they concoct.

Do not know if any of them are true.. I know butter tastes better, even

my boys can tell if someone uses margarine. I do know margarine si

chemically made..I do not like chemicals if I can avoid them so I stick

with butter..
