Guest guest
I lay down quietly today after I took my second luekine shot (first being yesterday) and after about 10 minutes my heart rate elevated and heart did some flips. I didn't break out in a cold sweat or get the chest/lower back pain like yesterday. I just tried to breathe slowly and stay calm and after about 10 minutes my heart rate normalized and I just felt very sleepy. I called the MD pharmacist and he said since my reaction was better today than yesterday, I should keep going with it, and keep calling him afterwards and he might consider changing me to Neupogen the next time. He said they're in the same family, so I don't think he has a lot of hope I wouldn't have the same reaction to it. He did say he " normally doesn't get calls like this " , not in an accusatory way, just letting me know this wasn't normal. Sure would like to be normal . . . . I thought these shots were going to give me energy . . . . It's still early in the process, though. Practicing patience . . . . . Ellie --------------------------------- Expecting? Guest guest
Ellie, Since this is happening, why don't you call the oncologist?? It is the doctor who prescribed them no? I don't like the fact that they are every day and making you feel that way.. Please call the doctor and let me know, its hard worrying about you all the way across the ocean!! Guest guest
Hi Ellie, look, the first time they gave me the shot my doc told me don't be scare and call him if i have bone pain, that is normal because that's for make white cells and those was made in the bones, he suggest that take 3 advils(ibuprofen), but i didn't had problems with breath or pain in my hearth, but i remember to had that when i had general anestesia for a biopsy and a port-t-cat, anyway if your doctor didn't advise you about side effects, you must let him know what you feel, he is the only one that can help you.
