I have a question for you: have you ever had a sleep EEG (preferably a long reading containing the slow sleep waves) done on your son? My daughter was similar to your son. She progressed perfectly and began to lose her skills just before her third birthday. She has since been diagnosed with Landau Kleffner Syndrome. She is now on Prednisone and her language is reemerging. Sorry for another possibility thrown in the mix, but it is worth investigating.
