Hi all, I wanted to share this fantastic event with all of you. I invite you to the Stowe, Vermont "Weekend of Hope" This is a celebration of life and learning for cancer survivors and those who love them. While this is not a thyroid cancer specific event..I am proud to be partcipating for the 6th time. I will be representing us thycans again this year by: *Friday, May 4th, 2007 -Hosting a thyroid cancer dinner to kick off the weekends events (6:00-7:30 p.m./location TBA) We will meet thyroid cancer physicians and get a chance to mingle while meeting fellow thyroid cancer survivors. Advanced Registration is required for this event. Cost $40. Limited scholarships are available. *Friday, May 4th, 2007 Dessert Social and Fireside chat (cancer specific) with physicians. Complimentary, but advanced registration is required. *Saturday May 5th, 2007 I have recruited guest speakers: Dr. Beatriz Tendler, endocrinologist UCONN Medical Center "Presentation Title: Familial Thyroid Cancer" Dr. Tendler is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. She specializes in thyroid nodules and disorders and carcinoma; parathyroid tumors; endocrine hypertension; pituitary tumors and

disorders; primary aldosteronism; and pheochromocytoma. Dr. Tendler pursues research in primary hyperparathyroidism and thyroid carcinoma. She is the principle investigator in the study of calcimimetics a compund used to treat hyperparathyroidism. Dr. Tendler has an interest in tumors of the endocrine glands and provides care to patients with these unusual disorders through the Endocrine Neoplasia Program. I will also be running a thyroid cancer booth at the "Health Exhibitors Fair" running all day on Saturday, May 5th, 2007. Anyone interested in helping..Please contact me ASAP! Saturday, May 5th, 2007: I will be hosting an informal ziti/pasta dinner at a

local house where I will be staying for the weekend. I welcome all thycans to attend with their families. The physicians are invited to attend as well. This is my way of saying thank you to all of you who have supported my efforts on behalf of thyroid cancer survivors. We will kick back, relax, chat and feast on all the pasta, bread and salad you can put away!! Make room for our array of desserts as well! No cost. If you would like to contribute to the dinner, just let me know privately. I would appreciate a head count in order to help me prepare. Please note that the actual lecture portion of the event is free. However you do need to register in advance whether you require lodging or not!
