Guest guest
Hi everyone, My name is Jen and I'm 31 years old, married with 3 kids. Last night my hubby and I were joking around about something and as a result I pushed on part of my left breast and felt something abnormal. I have done self breast exams my whole life and realized this was not a normal lump. This morning I did a complete self breast exam and discovered a hard bean to marble size lump. It doesn't hurt, and doesn't move around and it's right in the front of my breast, not like under my armpit. I've called the dr and will be going in tomorrow morning for a exam (thank goodness I got in so quick!). I've been doing alot of reading on the internet about what it might be and I am still scared. My sister who is 10 years younger had a cyst and had it removed, that was over a year ago. Can anyone else tell me anything about how and what they dealt with? I have all these scenario's running through my mind. Especially with being married and having 3 kids....Thanks.. Jen
Guest guest
Hi Jen and welcome to the group. First thing is take a deep breath. Eighty percent of all lumps are NOT cancerous. Since you have been doing your self exams IF it should be anything, you caught it early. Do you eat/drink a lor of caffeine? Caffeine can casue lumps. Breast cancer is not the death sentence it was once thought to be. I had my mastectomy and chemo over 16 yrs ago and I am doing fine. There are ladies farther along than I am. Please keep us posted. I will keep you in my prayers. Guest guest
Hi, Jen: Welcome to the sisterhood of bosom buddies. We have all been where you are right, not knowing and wondering what we found or has been found through mammograms and/or ultrasounds. Checking out the lump is good. Only 20%, I understand, of lumps or nodules are malignant. I hope that you are in the 80%. Let us know what we can do to support you. Just take a deep breath and see your doctor tomorrow. Blessings to you. Jan K hicksfam2005 hicksfam@...> wrote: Hi everyone, My name is Jen and I'm 31 years old, married with 3 kids. Guest guest
Jen, My wife was recently diagnosed with BC mets in the liver. She's, of course, scared and anxious. We have a six month old. Hang in there. Get from diagnosis to tx (if need be, hopefully not) as fast a possible and talk to Annette in this group. She's the best. May God and whoever you trust be with you.
