Guest guest
I have been so busy, I haven't posted anything in awhile. My mom just went into hospice- anyone who has any experience with this, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!
Guest guest
I was a hospice chaplain for four years. Hospice is a great comfort and also generally provides excellent care and support for not only the patient but also the family. I will be glad to answer what questions I can or be whatever support you need. I don't have all the answers but can listen to your concerns and questions. If I can ask, what is your mom's diagnosis? Which hospice is she with? I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts. Blessings to you. Jan K Anita ayoungbar@...> wrote: I have been so busy, I haven't posted anything in awhile. Guest guest
Anita, Hospice is wonderful. We had my mother in law with us before she passed away and the dr recommended Hospice. They would come and do vitals, help me bathe her and they were always there to listen to us and answer questions. We could call them day or night and they were wonderful. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Guest guest
Hi Anita- Sorry to hear about your mom. We found hospice to be a positive experience. My mother-in-law went into hospice after fighing cancer for 17 years. She had cancer everywhere but not breast cancer. The nurse prepared us step by step of what was to happen and there were no surprises. My in-laws lived in Florida and we live in NY- but when my husband and brother-in-law visited her at the end they were quite impressed with hospice. She became like a member of our family and helped us with the issues of dying as well as a resource for legal and funeral issues to follow. Guest guest
Thank you, Jan. I appreciate the feedback on hospice. My mom went to her doctor on Monday and found out the cancer is so widespread now that there is nothing else they can do, so they put her in touch with hospice. At this point, keeping her comfortable is all that can be done. She is with Hospice of the Chesapeake. Jan Koelsch jkoelsch1950@...> wrote: I was a hospice chaplain for four years.
