Guest guest
I had thyroid cancer about 2 years prior to bc diagnosis. Scared me, but is nothing compared to bc! I had a total thyroidectomy and was treated with radioactive iodine. The iodine is only picked up by thyroid cells in the body, wherever they may be, and kills them. I have asked if there is any known connection, and there is not, although the genetic counselor I saw re BRCA testing said there are studies looking for genes that may be connected to both. , age 43 > > > Hi All, > > Wondering....... > > I recently had blood work done and showed my thyroid is (after testing) > hyperthyroid.....Ultrasound showed that one side is not working at all > and the other side is " working " like crazy......Had thyroid scan and > all. Need re-testing in 3 months which at that time endrocrinologist > states " can treat with radioactive pills " UGH!!!!!!! I was just > wondering how many of you ladies out there have had thyroid issue's > since tx.?
