Guest guest
(I had 2 sites 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock) My tumor at the 3 o'clock site was sucked out during the needle biopsy.. all they found when they did the double mastectomy was the site marker that the radiologist left behind.. no tumor tissue there.. I watched it go.. and asked him if that had ever happened and he said YES... BUT they would still have to go in and retrieve the marker and look at the site with a lumpectomy to determine if they had gotten it all..so no surgery was not an option.. I still had 6 o'clock to deal with.. I had a double mastectomy in June 2006 because 2 sites in one breast do not make a very nice cosmetic outcome I was told... WOW someone should look at me now with these expanders in and tell me about cosmetic?? one is very large on the left and sagging terribly.. 650cc of saline .. and the one on the right is tight and small still has 650cc of saline in it too ... but high on the chest and radiation of the muscle is making it very very tight... Doc says it will all work out in the reconstruction process...hhmm should I believe him?? He said symmetry was going to be much easier to achieve with a double.. symmetry is in my future I hope.. and sensation too one day.. Any Comments Anyone???? still waiting for Diep girls to come forward if there are any here??? I think that is the way to go if I can get some good info..I am in California... I am looking into a doctor in Texas to do the work maybe.. I am not a rich girl but I do have Good insurance.. so that gives me a great opportunity to research and choose who I would want.. Guest guest
hello there my name is Chantal, I had double mastectomy in 09/11/06 with ex panders placed in the same time. the next day after surgery I looked in the mirror and noticed the right breast didn't look as good as my left breast, it looked din ted and smaller then the left one. It seems as if they took more tissues out of my right breast which didn't have cancer, I had cancer on the left breast. The Dr keeps on telling me that it will look good when they put my permanent implants, the right breast is higher and looks smaller than the left breast. People at my job told me that they can tell the difference, I just hope that it will look good after the next surgery. Right now I have 350 cc and the nurse told me that if I want the size I have now, I'll need to get more saline in because they will look smaller than the ex panders. My dear, we just have to pray God and hope for the best result. The worse thing will be to lose our breast from cancer and have unequal implants. Best wishes, take care BEEHIVEHOLLOW@... wrote: (I had 2 sites 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock) My tumor at the 3 o'clock site was sucked out during the needle biopsy.. all they found when they did the double mastectomy was the site marker that the radiologist left behind.. no tumor tissue there..
