Guest guest
Augh, what a stupid nurse.. I felt an allergy attack coming on at work today..so I took my meds..now instead of getting better, I got worse..called hubby and ended up leaving work to go to the hospital..sometimes I really do not know why I bother. Here is me..my face is swollen, I can not function, barely coherent to speak, vomitting, dizzy and can not stand.. The nurse takes my temp..normal blood pressure..153/93 pulse 102..she says this is normal..basically says I took the meds already, don't look swollen, can still breath..what am I doing there? Says the Benadryl probabley made me tired which is why the eyes don't open well.( hello, I have taken 3 times that amount of meds and not been tired) . The doc just basically said I have taken the meds , they can not do much..gave me a shot of gravol so they could give me more meds and made me sit there for 3 hours to make sure it did not get worse. On a good note I am feeling better, came home and slept , the facial swelling si almost gone which is wierd as usualy it takes a few days.now all I have is a rash on my hands and face where it was swollen..I am glad my blood pressure was high as with allergic reactions the dizzyness could of been from it being low..and low is not good.. I just can not believe they honestly think the blood pressure is normal? I guess this is what happens when you see a person that has no history on you..but then you would think they would of at least told me to get my GP to look at my blood pressure and do a follow up? I know she was looking for low but ?? Kats3boys
Guest guest
I guess for most people their bp's are slightly or highly elivated but if they see it alot, they'll just consider it normal... which of course, is stupid!! If it's above normal for you, it's not normal! That's a duh to me LOL. What gave you the reaction? I'm glad to hear you're okay. stupid nurse Augh, what a stupid nurse..I felt an allergy attack coming on at work today..so I took my meds..now instead of getting better, I got worse..called hubby and ended up leaving work to go to the hospital..sometimes I really do not know why I bother. Here is me..my face is swollen, I can not function, barely coherent to speak, vomitting, dizzy and can not stand..The nurse takes my temp..normal blood pressure..153/93 pulse 102..she says this is normal..basically says I took the meds already, don't look swollen, can still breath..what am I doing there?Says the Benadryl probabley made me tired which is why the eyes don't open well.( hello, I have taken 3 times that amount of meds and not been tired) . Guest guest
Stupid doctor, stupid nurse too, Kat. Sounds like some of them around MY area. 153/93? Normal? You've got to be kidding? I shake my head a lot these days, if it wasn't so sad to look at today's medical culture. OMG. If you had taken the Benadryl, it appears that MAYbe you were into a slow-moving or else mild anaphylactic attack, at which point you could have stopped breathing. Yeh, that bad drop in BP would be an even worse omen. Sometimes I just don't believe this world. stupid nurse > Augh, what a stupid nurse.. > I felt an allergy attack coming on at work today..so I took my > meds..now instead of getting better, I got worse..called hubby and > ended up leaving work to go to the hospital..sometimes I really do > not know why I bother. > > Here is me..my face is swollen, I can not function, barely coherent > to speak, vomitting, dizzy and can not stand.. > The nurse takes my temp..normal blood pressure..153/93 pulse 102..she > says this is normal..basically says I took the meds already, don't > look swollen, can still breath..what am I doing there? > Says the Benadryl probabley made me tired which is why the eyes don't > open well.( hello, I have taken 3 times that amount of meds and not > been tired) . Guest guest
That Systolic MIGHT pass on some people, but her Diastolic would NEVER pass as normal for anyone. They should have given her something under her tongue to knock that down, then observe it until it drops to normal, then observe to make sure it doesn't drop into the hypo zone. This happened to me on two occasions, and that is the protocol. All that is just CYA, even if they don't give a flip (which evidently they don't, the dumbos), and what happens after a couple of hrs observations after giving a BP med, AFTER she goes home, is another whole emergency, but I can't BELIEVE they told her that was normal. It's not normal for anyone coming in on ER, let alone for anyone else. They must be looking to get sued, I guess, the idiots. stupid nurse Augh, what a stupid nurse..I felt an allergy attack coming on at work today..so I took my meds..now instead of getting better, I got worse..called hubby and ended up leaving work to go to the hospital..sometimes I really do not know why I bother. Guest guest
Well on a good note my BP today was 123/80..so yeah it was with what ever was going on with me on Sat.. on another note , I managed to pull my rib muscles?? I pulled the rib cartillage on the inside of the breast bone on the right side..the doc gave me some muscle relaxers for it as I can not take any anti inflammatories although he was a little surprised the hospital did nothing for me other then to give me a gravol injection and ran no tests considering I was vomitting bad enough to hurt myself. Mind you if they don't work by Friday I gotta do more testing..augh.. Kats3boys
Guest guest
Ouchy... How are your ribs today Kat? I've done that before... one of the reasons I don't like vomiting is how often I've done that... you can't breathe, you can't move until that heals.. .it's miserable.....
