Guest guest
Hello, any open sores like that are Infection, she needs to go get checked, My Father in-law had Diabetes and heart trouble, He had open sores on his legs and feet like that, they didn't seem to heal. I hate to say he passed away after years of not taking care of the problem. Please try to get her to a doctor. > > My husbands grandmother has a open sore on her leg.I don't know anyway > to exsplain it but this way..It is a deep cut ....and it has yellow > stuff that runs from it all the time.Does anyonme else know someone > with this problem? She is old fashioned and set in her way...she doesn't > eat right..legs stay swallon all the time...she has just started > whirlpool theropy. Thanks,SHELLY >
Guest guest
Hi , That sounds like a very bad infection - get her to a doctor immediately before it becomes life threatening. Whirlpool therapy wont do anything for it, She probably has circulation problems in her extremities - and that can be dangerous R QUESTION????? Guest guest
Most likely the open sore is not healing because your mom's blood sugar is too high. My mom had an open sore like that. She had had phlebitis. She had an open sore as long as I could remember. When I was young I used to clean it and dress it. She came to visit me in Canada after I got married. She stayed for 2 months. During that time her wound healed. At the time I only knew about juvenile diabetes and never knew that adult suffered from another form of diabetes. I remember that my mother was taking diabeta (Glyburide). Looking back I understand what was happening at the time. The only thing in my mom's diet that was different while she was visiting was no french bread and no wine with meals. Those 2 items are very high in carbs. I hardly ever buy french bread or croissants because it just does not taste like the stuff you get in France. As far as alcohol is concerned we do not touch the stuff. My mother lived to be 80 years old and died of stomach cancer. It has been 26 years and I still miss her. le from Toronto where it is like a sauna.
