Guest guest
Hi, I haven't been on this site in quite a while. Everything was going good until just recently. I had been hyper then hypo now it looks like hyper again. Could someone comment on my labs and tell me what you think. Thanks....Lois LabRange TSH-<0.015 0.47-4.68 T4 Free-3.56 0.63-1.89 T4 Total-12.80 5.53-10.96 T3 Total-3.52 0.97-1.
Guest guest
TSH-<0.015 0.47-4.68 > T4 Free-3.56 0.63-1.89 These labs indicate you are definitely hyper.. Have you had any other labs done? Can you post labs , meds etc..from your last few labs so we can get some history as to why you are hypo, no hyper, oops hypo..now hyper? I have just been referred back to an endo from my primary care doc. Its funny because back in November my labs indicated I was going hypo again. TSH was around 5 at that time. I haven't been hyper since 1997. Thanks for your help... Lois
Guest guest
I defintely feel hyper. I go from feet sweating like crazy,to cold hands all at the same time. Is this all hormonal? I have alot of heart palpitations. How could I go from borderline hypo to hyper so quickly? Still waiting to see the doc. My brain feels so messed up right now. Oh,and I forgot to mention I am also peri-menopausal. The joys of being a woman..lol.. Guest guest
Can anyone comment on this for me? What would cause me to swing from one to the other so quickly? I feel sicker every day. Major panic attacks. I can't get to the endo until April 10th.. > > > > > > TSH-<0.015 0.47-4.68 > > > > T4 Free-3.56 0.63-1.89 > > > > > > These labs indicate you are definitely hyper.. > > > Have you had any other labs done? > > > Can you post labs , meds etc..from your last few labs so we can > get > > > some history as to why you are hypo, no hyper, oops hypo..now > hyper? > > > > > > Kats3boys > > > > > I will try to get my past labs. Major panic attacks. Can you get your GP to start you on some meds before you can get into the ENDO? Or can you call the ENDO office, explain how you are feeling and see if they can move the date closer or put you on a call list incase someone else cancels? Panic attacks, extreme anxiety are signs of hyper..just make sure you allow yourself time to take 5 if needed..rest when you can and eat when you are hungry.. even if it is every 5 mins..and make sure what you are snacking on is on the higher protien end of things. Guest guest
Hi I have never known anyone to flip flop like that. Several things could be occuring for you your medication isn't fully adjusted or you could be getting too much medication. I can't make an accurate assessment without more info than you have. When were you diagnosed? What medicine, supplements and vitamins are you taking? What kind of diet are you following? It could be the beginnings of a storm but, I don't know enough right now to judge the situatuation accurately. Guest guest
Hi..I am not on amy medication right now. I haven't taken anything for about 2 years. I was going hyper at the time so the doc told me to go off the levothyroxine. I had a thyroid scan done about 1 1/2 years ago. I had a small nodule that turned out to be " cold? " . The only supplements I take right now are calcium/magnesium,fish oil. And when I remember a multi vitamin. I have really bad palpitations sometimes, and a really hard time sleeping.. I am also well into peri- meno right now so I don't know if all this is thyroid or the meno. I was first diagnosed hyper in 1997. I went hypo in 2004. Now I am hyper again..UGGGHH... Thanks all for the wonderful advice and help you give.. Now I am > hyper again..UGGGHH... > Thanks all for the wonderful advice and help you give.. > Lois With Grave's there is two antibodies.. the antibody is called TRAB..or thyroid receptor antibody.. this is now known to contain two antibodies. TSI which is Thyroid STIMULATING antibody.. the other antibody is called TBII..this is a Thyroid BLOCKING antibody. If you have TRAB and are hyper it is assumed you have more stimulating antibodies, if you test positive for TRAB but are hypo it is assumed you have more blocking antibodies. TBII can now be tested but very few labs do it. TRAB is a common test for Grave's and TSI is considered more positive as it is the antibody that causes the hyper.. You can get the doc to run both TRAB and TSI and depending how high tthe TRAB is in relation to the TSI will let you know how many blocking antibodies you have. Blocking antibodies are different then Hashi's..they both cause hypo but Hashi's destroys the thyroid where as TBII blocks the TSH receptors on the thyroid..if the thyroid can not receive the TSH it can not produce hormones.. This is why some people go hyper, some spontaniously go hypo and some can have Grave's eye disease and not be hyper or hypo.. as at times they tend to balance each other out in regards to thyroid function. Guest guest
Hi.. I posted this awhile back. I finally went to the Endo. he didn't do any test just went by the lab results that my primary doc sent to them. He put me on 20mg methimazole once daily. I started to feel better but that didn't last. The insomnia is as bad as ever. I took 2 sleeping pills last night and they did nothing.Palpitations are kicking up again too. Is anyone going through peri-at the same time as your thyroid? Could the peri be causing all these problems. Should the Endo have done more testing? Thanks....Lois -- In The_Thyroid_Support_Group , " kitasha59 " wrote: > > Hi..I am not on amy medication right now. I haven't taken anything > for about 2 years. Guest guest
You need to divide your dose into thirds and take it every eight hours. Methimazole has a short life of only a few hours. So it's no wonder you are not feeling good. Then new labs in 4 weeks. Sami You may want to check out ... graves_support > > > > > > > > > > > > > > TSH-<0.015 0.47-4.68 > > > > > > > > T4 Free-3.56 0.63-1.89 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > These labs indicate you are definitely hyper.. > > > > > > > Have you had any other labs done? > > > > > > > Can you post labs , meds etc..from your last few labs so > > we > > > can > > > > > get > > > > > > > some history as to why you are hypo, no hyper, oops > > hypo..now > > > > > hyper? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Kats3boys > > > > > > > > > > > > > I will try to get my past labs. If you do a web search and for Tapazole( brand name) and read the product insert you will see the dosing is reccomended three times a day. 20mg is consdiered a hig dose so you want to make sure the doc runs labs soon( 3-4 weeks ) and lowers the dose quickly before you become hypo. To explain what is happening..JMO..You are taking 20mg all at once i nthe morning..it is completely blocking your thyroid or allowing very little thyroid hormone to be released..then come bed time all that thyroid hormone that was blocked is now being released, as well as all the extra hormone that the thyroid is also producing.. Consider it like standing outside with the garden hose and wanting to water the flowers..now being hyper the tap is on too far..too much pressure and too much water coming out of the hose.. so what you want to do is turn the tap and slow the water down..instead what you are doing is turning off the tap and then turning it all the way back on again.. Your body is letting yo uknow it is not liking it one bit. Kats3boys
