Feeling ,old cold, depressed, tired, demotivated dried skin, can all these symptoms reappear after nearly two years on medication. I have asked for an earlier blood test this week instead of May. can anyone help and/or reassure me. New member,Sue.

I was diagnosed with extremely low thyroid in 2005 the G.P said one of the lowest readings he`d seen. After putting on three stone, inability to get warm and I just couldnt get up in the mornings, never felt rested and continued to feel depressed. Could well be hormonal as I am nearing 43 year. I usually suffer with Seasonal Adjustment Disorder but when the sun was out all day today I wanted to go to bed and sleep, usually it gives me a buzz and a zest for life, not today. My thought are quite fuzzy and as a manager of a team I do not feel confident in my role currently as I cannot seem to think straight, we have also just moved house 3 months ago and I have two teenage sons who can be hard work, plus a husband of 13 years. I continue to have extremely dry skin, brittle nails, ect I have been on T3 (Liothyroxine) last year which didnt help, I have had my dose adjusted several times, higher and lower. I felt today and yesterday that I was back to square one. I am also seeing a therapist for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, for my negative and depressive state of mind. Guest guest
A lot of your symptoms sound hypo to me.. Unfortunately the onyl really way to tell is to get labs.. being you think you maybe hormonal make sure the doc orders the Free versions of the labs.. so FT4 and FT3 are needed.. you may also ask for iron and B12 and sugar levels as they symptoms can overlap with hypo or mimic hypo symptoms.. Guest guest
Hello . Do you have any labs you can post? We need TSH, Free T3, Free T4, also ferritin/iron studies if you have it and any adrenal tests you have had done You may need a higher dose or even some T3 added or a switch to Armour which also contains T3/T4 as well as T1, T2 and calcitonin Meleese in Oz xxx ----- Original Message ----- >I have been on the 150mcg Levothyroxine since Sept 06. Guest guest
From my own stand point I have always been dealing with those problems and they can recur if your meds need adjusted again Robin In The_Thyroid_Support_Group , " susan_coombes " wrote: > > I have been on the 150mcg Levothyroxine since Sept 06. Guest guest
I have written a huge response but hubby turned the computer off and I hadn't saved anything. Anyway, I was not receiving any respite from my symptoms so last year I insisted on all the tests, Endo tested me for Cushing Syndrome and Pituritrygland failure. Colonic irrigation twice, Liver and upper abdomen ultrasound scan for the distended and uncomfortable tummy, Mammogram, taken T3 for three months. I am sure there is more but they all came up Normal anyway, god I hate that word!!! My bloods were too difficult to make head nor tail of. My-GP referred me psychiatrist felt this was a reason for weight gain, now receiving Cognitive Behaviour therapy and guess what I havent lost any weight!!! Oh and Piturity function test. I was sure I had a small tumour there as I get the strangest sensation in the back of my neck like sand filtering from my head down my neck, yes I know I am strange but when I told my Mum she said shed had the same feeling and sensation for years.
