Guest guest
Hi everyone. I need your wonderful expertise again--I am crashing. As you know my doctor recently increased my Armour by 30 mg and decreased my Cytomel to .5 mcg. My recent Free T4 was .8 (.8-1.8). Over the last week, I have taken 15 mg of Armour increase and stopped the Cytomel. As you know last Saturday, my pulse had been racing. Since stopping the Cytomel last week, this has not happened again. Today, I took the full 30 mg extra of Armour. I feel like I am crashing because I am an exhausted zombie. I know I just started the higher dose of Armour but do you think it is enough that I will feel some benefit? Do you think that stopping the Cytomel completely like I have is too abrupt? Do you think I should add the small dose of Cytomel back (.5 mcg) today? I need to be able to function. Thank you.
Guest guest
Lyme: I don't know the whole story, but I'd venture to say that The new armour you added will take a few days for you to feel the effect. Its best to not add anything else until you have let the new Armour dose settle a couple of weeks at least. If you are still feeling poorly (hypo), I'd say it might be time for you to get some straight t4 to take. Getting both frees to the upper third of the range..t3free and t4free is a rough goal many of us work towards...then tweak from there. ~E:) --- lymebytes ko_@...> wrote: > Hi everyone. Guest guest
E, thanks for your response--it makes a lot of sense. I have not felt this bad in a long time and it is scary. I hope the dose kicks in soon. I have never had my Free Ts in the upper 1/3 of the range and have not yet been optimally treated. I am shooting for that range. I am ready for tweaking! > > > Hi everyone. Guest guest
What I can tell you is from my experience. I was on levo/cyto for almost 3 years. felt FINE. just couldn’t lose weight and was gaining so--- I switched to Armour. I felt tired, achy and even depressed and forlorn sometimes. I went back to the levo/cyto and feel “fine” again — energy is back, moods are up, etc. Cytomel is a fast acting and pretty effective drug for producing warmth, energy and has even been used to treat depression... Your choice if you want to wait and see on the armour but I was not able to with my own biz to run and a 12 year old daugher, husband, house, etc. I have to be “up” ... Sue Hi everyone. Guest guest
Thanks Sue. I am sorry the Armour did not work for you, but I am glad you are feeling better! I cannot lose weight either but my levels have not been optimal yet. I am thinking about adding the .5 Cytomel today so the difference in what I was taking and what I am taking now will not be so big. I need to be able to function. I really appreciate your feedback--you guys are great! > > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone. Guest guest
Be careful adding cytomel if you are on the higher dose of the armour—your body does need to adjust... I so badly want(ed) to be on the armour since it’s natural but it just didn’t “do it” for me... Keep us posted! Sue Thanks Sue. Guest guest
Thanks Sue. I don't know if Armour is working for me either, I guess time will tell. I did add in the 5 mcg of Cytomel. I have not had any hyper symptoms. Do you know how long it takes the body to adjust to the new levels? The Armour increase is 30 mg. I am just really tired and feel like a zombie! Thanks again! > > > > > > > > > > > Thanks Sue. Guest guest
I have no idea how long to adjust and if that means your body or your functioning, warmth, energy, mood, etc. I am on the .112 levo and 15 to 20 mcg cyto and feel it’s “correct” for me but I really don’t know what that means. I still get cold and have the sluggish metabolism... could just be menopause, age, etc. I am 49. sue Thanks Sue. I don't know if Armour is working for me either, I guess time will tell.
