Guest guest
Jan, It will be a week this tuesday that I have been on Arimidex. Headaches is one of the side effects,,,,I have been going on the net in all kiinds of forums and that is one of the complaints. I haven't had one yet,,,I have felt nauseated but have never thrown up yet. Haven't started feeling any bad bone or joint pains yet I am having to take luenesta for sleeping and I have noticed my neuropathy seems a little worse, I am taking extra clacium and Bayer supplement that has glucosamine and chondroitin in it,,,it is called joint and bone vitality I am hoping it will help also walk everyday and lift werights every other day and play tennis. If I start hurting so bad I can't do these things I will quit taking the arimidex...If I can't enjoy my activities then it is not worth it to me. I have already tried Aromasin it was terrible on me. So I pray that the Arimidex works out! Good luck Steph
Guest guest
Today is my worst day with Arimidex. I had another migraine headache, my left knee feels like tendinitis, ( I would like to cut it off), and I am shaky and my vision is blurry today. I was nauseated with the headache. All I wanted to do was sleep. If these are side effects, I don't know if it is worth it. I can't work with blurry vision and headaches. I can't drive either. I am going to ask my oncologist what my chances of recurring cancer are. If they are less than 10%, I think that I will ask for the third option. What websites and forums have you been to lately to get more information? I hope Arimidex is good to you. If not, maybe there is another option. Let's hope. sjandtj_ve sjandtj@...> wrote: Jan, It will be a week this tuesday that I have been on Arimidex. Guest guest
Jan, I'm sorry that you are feeling so badly! I did take Arimidex for a total of 4 months. I experienced very bad side effects as well and finally switched to Tamoxifin in December - so far - so good. Headaches, joint pain, vision problems, neuropathy - ALL Much Improved!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that I can take this. Just wanted to share my experience - there are women on here who can tolerate the drug but many of us have found another alternative. The first time I took it I got really weak, and felt like I could not function. Plus it really made me sleepy. After a few days of that I started taking it at around 9 PM, closer to bed time. That way I figured maybe I could sleep off some of the side affects :-) I too have pain in my left knee and headaches. But now that I have been taking it for awhile, my headaches are less often. I have spent most of my life having headaches. My knee does not hurt every day like it did at first. I still get hot flashes. I do not want to be on this drug either, besides the fact that it is so expensive, and I know it is bad for my bones. Before getting started on it I got a bone density test which shown my bones are not in such good shape, plus almost 30 years ago I had a blood clot in my leg, and I am worried about that recurring. Thought I was told not to worry about that, sure stroke runs in my family. At any rate I won't see my doctor till March. Then I am planning on discussing this again. However my family doctor said this is a really good drug. She did say to stick with it awhile . I know the specialist was just going to switch me to something else if I refused to take this. However the blood clot chances are even more with other drugs. Maybe if you can stand to take it awhile the side affects will lessen. And maybe you could try taking it at night. Just thought I would tell you what has worked for me so far. Robin in Nebraska > >
